2003-04-15 10:44:37 PM
Bet the guy was surprised when the ump's pad stopped his stake.
2003-04-15 10:45:54 PM
He had it coming...
2003-04-15 10:46:44 PM
After Berger caught the ball, he rushed to Diaz's aid and appeared to punch the fan while he was held down by other players.

As it turns out, it was just a special effect.
2003-04-15 10:48:00 PM
how many strike did he get before he got out?

/burn me slowly
2003-04-15 10:48:57 PM
Great, now the asshat is probably going to get to sue the baseball player for assault, even though he was attacking the Ump.

2003-04-15 10:50:32 PM
How do you top two guys running out onto the field?

Have FOUR GUYS run out onto the field.

I swear..

two guys ran out earlier between innings

and another guy in white sweatpants ran out and got tackled (and his pants fell down)

Do they have any security at United States Cell Phone Field or is this "White Trash at the White Sox" night there?

2003-04-15 10:51:57 PM
Note to White Sox exec's:
Please make another International Beer Stand like the one on the left field side and let the trash stay in the upper deck.

Do these idiots realize that it's a felony charge and $2,200 fine?

... Berger... rushed to Diaz's aid and appeared to punch the fan while he was held down by other players.

Just a hunch, but I bet that guy's not a baseball fan anymore.

Robbie- I just wanted to thank you for signing your initials. I had forgotten who was posting.
2003-04-15 10:54:25 PM
I'd like to see fans try this more at hockey games. I bet the refs would absolutely slaughter a fan who tried to fark with them. I know wrestlers do it. I've seen Kane (7 foot, 300 lb) absolutely heave a guy who jumped the rail into a set of steps. The best part about it was that nobody on the wrestling side of the rail gives two craps if the guy was hurt.
2003-04-15 10:54:44 PM

don't worry about it dude. I make sure all my fans know my mutafrkkin' name. ;)

2003-04-15 10:57:45 PM
RobbieFal, do you sign your initials because of an older internet chat dealie where it wasn't always apparent who was sending which message, so people signed them to ensure that everyone knew what they were saying? I remember reading that explanation from someone here on Fark. I can't remember if it was you. It might have been STPickrell.
2003-04-15 10:59:55 PM
you just talked about a wrestler and knew his name and stuff..

2003-04-15 11:01:22 PM

/countdown 'til some asshat yuppie Cubs fan makes a crack about the socioeconomic status of many Sox fans (gosh! some can't afford to live in wrigleyville! the horror!) no excuse for running out on the field, though.
2003-04-15 11:02:37 PM
It's got to be something they put in the Goose Island lager.
2003-04-15 11:03:03 PM
Dudes who jump the rail at (wwe)wrestling events get beat down! I remember a few years back when a person ran into the ring when no one was in there and ref Earl Hebren smoked him with a stiff arm to the face and choke hold.

It's time to arm the umpires. First shot, wing them. Second, shoot to kill. No one's going to cry if this idiotic mofo is dead.
2003-04-15 11:07:06 PM
Umpires should have those batons that the guy had who attacked Nancy Kerrigan.

Now, that'd make baseball fights cooler if an ump had to hit somebody with a club
2003-04-15 11:07:25 PM
"initially pleaded innocent to charges of aggravated battery and mob action."

MOB ACTION = teh coolest charge to go down for. ever.

Yet again, more thug fans from up north.

Royals win again.

2003-04-15 11:11:32 PM
Jeez, soon all the White Sox fans will be forced to wear Lecter masks and be strapped to their seats.
2003-04-15 11:11:55 PM
Due to the fact that I am a Sox fan, allow me to make the following statement on behalf of some members of the aforementioned fan base: WE ARE NOT ALL WHITE TRASH.

Thank you.

"Billy Koch sucks cock against the Royals."

The "against the Royals" really wasn't required. I am so glad that guy is out of Oakland. Of course...Foulke is barely a step up.
2003-04-15 11:14:08 PM
What do you expect from Sox' fans.

FONT face="Tahoma" color=#000000 >Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

Allow me to gramatically correct that statement:

Again, thank you.

I also remember watching a tag team match. I forget one of the teams involved, but the other was DOA. They were fighting through the crowd, and at one point a fan tapped Skull on the shoulder, and when Skull turned around, the fan threw a drink in his face. Skull stood there for a second, and then punched the man right in the face. The guy went flying backwards, probably knocked out, and then was taken out by security. Funniest shiat ever.
2003-04-15 11:16:03 PM
Uh, there should be a not in there somewhere. I surrender.
2003-04-15 11:18:27 PM
Berger is one of my new favorite players. After catching the ball and running to the ump's aide, he took the ball out of his glove and slugged the fan in the neck with it.

I'd like to see fans try this more at hockey games. I bet the refs would absolutely slaughter a fan who tried to fark with them.

It did happen. A fan jumped on the ice (at a Buffalo Sabres game a few years ago) and started to run towards a referee that was standing behind the net. The play had already stopped and the ref had his back turned to the guy. Just before he reached the referee, a linesman came barrelling out of nowhere, drilled the fan in the back with an amazing body check (his shoulder caught him right in the spine) and the fan flew face first into the boards and crumpled to the ice.

The best farking hit I've ever seen in hockey.

The fan tried to sue the league/linesmen/Buffalo/God/everyone for "pain and suffering", but the judge threw out the case because it was ruled "self-defence".

Are you trying to start a flamewar with yourself, Nordburg?

now, that's a ball that's going into the hall of fame.

It would be fun to hear the opinions of Chicago Farkers as to the differences between Cubs fans and Sox fans. Also the opinions of New Yorkers and the difference between Mets and Yankees fans. LA vs. Anaheim. etc

I'm surprised I don't remember that. How long ago was it? I do remember seeing something like that in a football game involving Green Bay. A guy ran onto the field and some linebacker or something destroyed him with a shoulder to the jaw. I don't think the player even saw the guy, as a play was being run. The guy was out, and I think he might have had a broken jaw. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Stymie_My_Boy, Nordburg,

'Tis better to be white trash than to be some dumb ass elitist primadonna losers.

Cubs fans don't do that, they just snatch the players' hats off of their heads in the bullben, run out onto the field, strip and proposition the players, or actually try to jump the opposing pitchers.

I'd much rather be on the South Side than the North Side. South Side has more character. At least the Sox have had more than three winning seasons in the past twenty years.

/begin flamewar

To answer DRW's question,

Cubs fans are considered to be the more well-to-do fan base. Wrigley field is in a great, affluent area, full of bars and resturants and yuppies. Coincidentally, Chicago's gay community is just a stones throw from Wrigleyville. Dispite fielding some awful teams, the Cubs continously outdraw the Sox cause of their location.

Comiskey, which is now US Celluar Field, is a stone's throw from the Robert Taylor housing project. In other words, not a great area. Sox fans are generally blue collar, compared to their white collar counterparts on the north side, and seem to be more knowledgable of the game.

Did I miss anything fellow Chicago Farkers?
2003-04-15 11:26:34 PM
The all-time king of the idiot fan police has to be Art Donovan, the former lineman for the Baltimore Colts. He absolutely blew up a guy that ran on the field and picked up the ball in between plays once at the old Memorial Stadium.
2003-04-15 11:27:45 PM
In other news
Royals first base coach is missing.
2003-04-15 11:27:57 PM

You just enjoy those $1,500 tickets the Cubs are scalping via a shell company and the Barbie Doll giveaways, mmmkay?
