oldpickupguy: CBS has lost thousands of viewers in the past 20 minutes. But wait, Obama has predicted the Colts because of Peyton Manning, but yet he has a soft spot for the Saints, so the 20 minutes of BS was worth it.

/same PC comments heard a bazillion times this week

Who cares who that dumbass steeler fan is cheering for.

Sadly sitting off shore today, so no beer. That being said, WHO DAT DEY SEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINT'S!

Manning is a great QB no doubt about it, but the Saints lead in stripped balls. Plus the Saints are in better condition. Hell Lets face it, it seems like destiny.

So, to all those throwing parties today, heres to your success. As a bit of protip, lemme bore you with the LAST Super Bowl Party I will ever throw...

Super Bowl XVI. My boss was a huge Bengals fan, so I decided to have a throw down in his honor. My roommate and I rented out the party room at the apartment, catered in Fajitas, Burgers and a Margarita machine. We invited about 40 people. Over 100 showed. And everyone brought extra beer and Tequila. That was danger sign #1. My date/hostess was a smoking hot red head with ginourmous hooters that I had been chasing for weeks. She was a major flirt and attention whore. She showed up wearing some of the tightest short pants I have ever seen and a fishnet kinda top that had plenty of tits falling out of it. That was danger sign #2.
Redhead...check. tequila...check. All we needed was the spark.

The drinking started early and the pace never slowed. I remember very little about the game, and actually missed the whole 4th quarter. My date, Carol, thought it would be a good idea to crack open the Cuervo Gold and start the shots by the end of the 1st quarter. We kept mixing margaritas with the cheaper mixtos and doing Gold Especiale shots on top. By halftime, it was clear that destruction was nigh. Everybody was well and truly hallucinating. I was mixing up some more Margs in the kitchette and when I came back out, there was my date in my boss's lap doing a slutty bump and grind. His wife didn't think that was such a good idea. She hadn't drank a thing but Diet Coke and it was obvious she had never witnessed the power of agave. He enjoyed it I could tell, but the stage for the catfight was set. I got her off the boss's lap and tried to calm down the ladies, but that was not gonna happen. Carol continued her act and pretty much went full Lindsey Lohan, doing a pole dance in front of the TV. The name calling began, then the shoving and hair pulling. And NO ONE in the crowd did anything but cheer on the proceedings. I was gonna get fired, on the spot. I seperated the combatants and restored order briefly. Somebody made some dumb comment about the cheerleaders on TV looking slutty and boss wife snidely tossed in, 'lucky for us, we got our own slut here'.

Mayhem.....clothing was ripped and Carols impressive chest was now far more entertaining than whatever the hell the Niners were doing. I dragged her outa there and back to my apartment. Best night of wild crazy sex ever. She had made her point and was clearly going to be the topic of discussion at work for many days, not the game. I was told later that the local gendarmerie paid a visit and made several half naked guests get out of the hot tub. The party room was like Hiroshima. Cost me the deposit+ to repair the furniture, carpet and television. Never again.

Couldn't handle the pregame BS anymore. I'm simulating on Madden right now. 21 - 17 Colts at half time. Brees has two INTs and Manning has one. Reggie Bush has been uncoverable. Anthony Gonzalez has 2 TDs for the Colts. Somehow, I doubt that will happen today.

Saints 27, Colts 24.

I'm going to set aside $20 for insane live-betting, things like "This drive will end in a: (a) touchdown +150; (b) field goal +200; (c) punt -110; (d) turnover +300."

NFL Network has better coverage. Thankfully they don't get the game though, it would be funny listening to Matt Millen ruin it though.

Note to Saints fans:

You don't want to win this farking game. No way, no how.

See? I'm a fellow traveler. I'm a Broncos fan. One of my first memories is getting crushed by the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. The 49ers game was the first time I got drunk. I didn't leave bed for about 3 days (from alcohol poisoning and depression). By the time we played the Packers, I had facial tics anytime the Super Bowl was mentioned.

Then we won, and I cried like a little girl, and then we won again. We were awesome. I didn't cry.

And I really stopped caring. Every time the Broncos aren't in this game, I think to myself, "Oh, well, they'll just go home and polish their two trophies". Red Sox fans know this feeling. I haven't actually been to an NFL game since the Rams and Broncos played in St. Louis about 2000.

Don't win the game. Win it down the road, eventually. If you win today, you'll have a championship, and then you'll go from "special" (in the Obama Olympics way) to ordinary. I know of what I speak. And really, the fun is in the former. The bags on your heads, the umbrellas, and the "who dat".

Don't win. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

navarone54: Meet Us at the Stick: Heart: Saints
Head: Colts minus the points

Off to start making food. Having chicken and sausage gumbo and shrimp po'boys. With Hurricanes to drink.

Couldn't think of any food that represents Indianapolis.... Mayonnaise on white bread?

Someone's never been to Indy, I see.

Corn on the cob, for one--granted, I had to freeze mine from Indiana, but it's on the menu. Pork tenderloins if you can find them are another good one. I think that the pie would have to be persimmon, tho'.

Colts 44
Saints 34

I wish CBS would interview a non-NFL thug and play the same sympathetic music. Ask him the same questions and empathize with him. Maybe instead of someone who broke a law and discharged a gun in a club, make it a child molester. fark that guy. And fark Vick too.
