2003-04-15 05:27:28 PM
OK, I get Heywood Jablome and Phil McCracken and Pat McRotch Mike Hunt and all those...

...but is Pat McCraith ("Pat McCraith, who owns Rolln' Frank, a hotdog stand") just an unfortunate real name? Because otherwise I feel really out of the loop for not knowing what the heck a craith is.
2003-04-15 05:42:25 PM
The brat vendors were pissed when the Nuremberg rallies were cancelled, too. Screw 'em.

Dick Gazinya didn't even bother showing up.

He was out partying with Patrick Fitzgerald and Gerald Fitzpatrick...

Who from Philly, Deleware, or NJ want to bet that names from this thread get used on 94.5 the Hawk's PA pranks?

hmmm, I'll put ten bucks on it.
2003-04-15 08:05:15 PM
Me and Haywood enjoyed a nice cool refreshing Dickin's Cider after this one.
2003-04-15 08:23:53 PM
Is it true Jablowme was defended by Dwight Mannsburden?
2003-04-15 08:24:52 PM
Like the Bob & Tom reference.
2003-04-15 09:27:30 PM
I told my mother in law I was going to name my 3rd son Heywood Jablome. She looked at me like I was from Mars.
2003-04-15 09:53:16 PM

2003-04-15 10:39:54 PM

2003-04-15 10:46:43 PM
For cryin' out loud people, the term is JABRONI! Not this jablome nonsense(which is probably how the japanese say it).
2003-04-15 10:48:26 PM
umm, for all the people claiming local ownership of the dickens cider clip... umm, good luck on finding where that actually originated. its played everywhere, and most stations that play it pretty much take credit for it. a lot of radio comedy stuff goes that way.

on another note, i wonder why martha burk's campaign to enact a law making WNBA players pay commensurate with NBA players doestn get more press. hmmmm....

she is a certifiable wacko.
2003-04-15 10:49:52 PM
Let me be the annoying correction guy: It's the Charleston Post & Courier, not the Charleston Times.

2003-04-15 10:49:55 PM
QUERY: Where's that site with the counter-protest signs?
2003-04-15 10:51:06 PM
Freida Gogh helped him get bail.
2003-04-15 10:52:07 PM
2003-04-15 10:53:12 PM
After he got out, he went to see his girlfriend, Gladys Overwith.
2003-04-15 10:54:06 PM
He had nothing but praise for his lawyer, Hugh Lyon Sack.
2003-04-15 10:56:16 PM
It was the groundskeeper, Moe DeLawn, that pointed him out to police.
2003-04-15 10:56:23 PM
"We are a long way from the front gates were those boys are in there sewing."

So is Martha insane or does this paper have the world's worst copy editor?
2003-04-15 10:56:28 PM
And I thought Haywood just resigned from the UN. Hmmmm.
2003-04-15 10:57:11 PM
That quote is from the bottom of the fifth paragraph, if you'd like to see it yourself.
2003-04-15 10:57:25 PM
Alright, time for the obligatory "Phil McCracken and Ben Dover" Or, how about Phat Ho & Phillip Hiscock?
2003-04-15 10:58:16 PM
Dicken's Cider is by The Love Brothers and is on Bob and Tom's cds. I'm sure it's played all over though. And BOb and Tom sure seem to have the same news stories as Fark, nearly word for word.
2003-04-15 10:59:21 PM
For those of you who don't know this, Heywood was actually a guy named "Rich", a sort of social stuntman for 99X, a radio station in Atlanta. In other words, the station sends Rich out to do embarrasing stuff and to see how people react. I know because they played it up alot on the radio the next day, with all of them getting good laughs about it. On the one side of his card, it said "Iron My Shirt", which I thought was pretty damn funny, and "Make Me Dinner" on the other side. Now, why the police wanted to drag _HIM_ away, and not Burk, I have no idea, though it does set off a First Amendment alarm for me. Why should Burk get to run her yap, without interruptions, but Rich gets threatened by the Police?

BTW, he got the "Heywood Jablome" past the reporters by pronouncing his last name as (say it with me, kids): "Zha-blomb", and then spelling it to them s-l-o-w-l-y. Apparently not all the reporters picked up on the joke, even as they wrote it down. They must have all slept through 5th grade or something.

Productiveslacker: I think you're right, my bad.
2003-04-15 11:01:03 PM
They failed to catch his cousin, Pat MaGroin.
2003-04-15 11:01:16 PM
I would have assumed that his lawyers were Dewey, Screwum, and Howe.
2003-04-15 11:01:37 PM
