Should I be worried about clicking on the 'happy ending' tag?

Cheetah pattern anyone?

www.venergybowling.com

Description: Cheetah measures 35 feet in length and is the shortest of the five patterns. Sometimes used on lane surfaces that are well worn, it tries to maximize the area on the lane with less wear, which is usually extemely close to the gutter. Because of this, players tend to migrate toward those spots to take advantage of the more pristine surface areas. The cheetah is exciting for its ability to allow players to make "risk-reward" decisions based on playing near the gutter. The scoring pace is normally medium to high for this pattern.

Scoring: All PBA players agree that this is the highest scoring of the Denny's PBA Tour patterns. You better have your striking shoes on in the first frame.

Ball Types: Of the five patterns, Cheetah allows for the most diversity in the ball type by different style players. Power players had mixed feelings with most choosing medium to agressive balls. Most tweeners use medium equipment; some choose weak. Straighter players prefer using weak equipment which allow them to set the ball down in or close to the driest portion of the lane.

Didn't a Norwegian newspaper post that this did end in a happy meal and that the cheetas were in fact playing with their food?

Apologies for maybe stating the obvious, but DM is lying when they wrote in a happy ending. The Impala was eaten in the end.

Who can blame the cheetahs for eating the tasty, tasty venison...

2010-02-03 06:06:57 AM
This was in the local papers here in Norway some days ago. They spoke with Yann Metrich at Biosphoto, the agency that took these pictures.

Apparently, he didn't know where the last picture in the series came from, but apparently the Daily Fail made the story up or were misled. In the original picture series, at least according to Biosphoto, the impala was killed and eaten after they'd played with it.

Link goes to the original Norwegian article. Can probably try google translator or babelfish to decode if you're Norwegian impaired. :)

Cats enjoy toying with prey. They're one of the few types of animal on the planet which will hunt/kill for fun, rather than food.

There was no way this wasn't going to end up with them trying to kill the impala.

I love the translation!

FTtranslatedA: How the Daily Mail is the last picture from, well, we do not. It is the discovery of self.

Impalaen ble selvfølgelig drept og spist til slutt, sier Metrich og viser de siste fire bildene fra møtet mellom gepardene og den vesle kalven. Impalaen was of course killed and eaten in the end, "said Metrich and shows the last four pictures from the meeting between Gepardene and the little calf.

Og det er moder natur slik vi kjenner den. And it is the mother nature as we know it.

Also, this ruins my theory that the cheetahs realized this was the Impalamessiah.

Indeed. They're more in the "let's make gross generalisations about minorities and people from other faiths and pass them off as researched observations" camp. Oh, and yes, not terribly bright.

You're damned right you ruined it! I thought the cheetahs were planning to befriend the antelope while secretly waiting a year for it to fatten up. I am now disappointed in the cheetahs.

Me too. I know it's nature and all, cheetahs are predators and love to nom on tasty impala, but the Disneyish aspect of this fake story made me smile. Should have known it was BS.

I guess I'll just be happy that the cheetahs got a good meal. I usually cheer for the cats anyway. Good job, kitties!
