So many jokes in that tiny article.
So so many.

But the thought of an insane dude running around in a parking lot naked and then stealing a shuttle bus just has me giggling too much.

So I won't mention the obvious 'was taken to Hancock county jail for clothes' part.

:)

Huh. Not that great of a punchline.

Charges of indecent exposure are the least of Mohammed Jwad Salem's problems.

Authorities in Chester, West Virginia, accuse Salem of being the streaker who stole a shuttle bus. Police say Salem was naked when he ran around a parking lot at the Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort. He allegedly took a bus and drove about a mile before getting stuck in a muddy field

OMG it's begun.....they said not to attack Iraq!!

THE TERRORISTS ARE STRIKING BACK!!!

This reminds me of something that happened to my grilfriend a long time ago (short version):

She took a ride from a friendly person at the mall when she was stranded. On the way home she went to bum a smoke from the guy, and realized he wasn't wearing any pants. She pretended that she didn't notice (as she was wearing mirrored sunglasses) and got dropped off. The funny part is that when she got out of the car, this guy says (and I swear its the truth): "Sarah, be careful who you take rides from, theres a lot of weirdos out there..."

2003-04-14 07:17:59 AM
This guy has something to look forward to tomorrow morning. Its not often that the dream where you go to work/school w/out pants becomes a reality.

I mostly wear pants when I steal vehicles....mostly

2003-04-14 08:24:44 AM
So, if he's a naked shuttlebus-jacker, did he bring his own porn, or was it the shttlebus that turned him on?

2003-04-14 08:24:47 AM
Darn that Mohammed!

I told him to steal a shuttle plane and crash into France, not steal a shuttle bus and dash with no pants!

Curses.

Grammar, not "grammer"
Better than, not "better then"
Dependents, not "dependants"
Article, not "artical"

I had to get this off my chest even if it is irrelevant here.

Take a look at the other links on the page:

Jake, the 12-week-old, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, swallowed a knife. It was so big, the kitchen knife was nearly length of the pup's whole body.

Jake's baffled owners took the dog to vet, after noticing he was walking strangely and vomiting. X-rays showed why.

Vet Christina Symonds says she's seen dogs swallow some pretty strange things, but she's never come across such a big knife in such a little dog.

Owner John Mallett says a day after surgery, Jake was his old playful self again.

Dependents, not "dependants"

Wrong.

dependent = adjective
dependant = noun

/spelling-nazi nazi

He was originally told to blow up the bus, but burnt his lips on the exhaust pipe.

2003-04-14 08:50:27 AM
Wanted to give the right spelling of "dependencies", which I see misspelled nine time out of ten, but since that is a programming term, I thought noone would get it. So I chose a word I wasn't 100% on instead, go figure.

"noone" is two words.

No. One.

Not according to any teacher I have ever had. They must all have been misinformed then.

2003-04-14 08:58:11 AM
"noone" is two words.

Wouldn't you say that "noone" are two words? Plural.

2003-04-14 08:58:18 AM
Go look it up in the Oxford Dictionary of English.

This goes for both American and UK English.

Methinks your teachers would second me on this. You must be mistaken. Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.

MORAL: Don't try to out-nazi a professional proofreader. It just won't work.

2003-04-14 08:59:19 AM
yeah im sure dependant is ok

GRAMMAR TYME FOLKS!!!

"No one" is a compound word, which is a single word made up of two separate words.

Therefore, "no one" is one compound word, comprising two individual words of separate meaning.

If you think that I was taking you into account at all Kaiserina, then I think you are simply feeling a little woozy right now from finally having an opportunity to correct somebody for once.

2003-04-14 09:04:15 AM
To try and get away from the current threadjack....

I read the headline and expected this to be happening in Japan for some reason. Add schoolgirls in there somewhere and it fits perfectly.

GRAMMAR TYME TAKE TWO!!

Dependant/ent: n.

Until recently, the correct spelling of the noun in UK English was dependent, as in "a single man with no dependants". However, in modern UK and US English, the variant dependent is now standard. The adjective is always spelled -ent, never -ant, as in "we are dependent on his goodwill."

2003-04-14 09:06:07 AM
kaiserina did you just contradict yourself and pretend that you didnt? :P

2003-04-14 09:07:17 AM
Are you kidding? That's all I do all day (i.e. correct people). And get paid a lot of money to do. I do feel woozy, you are right there, but that's due to the gin&tonics.

2003-04-14 09:07:33 AM
eh wtf?

2003-04-14 09:13:49 AM
fark it, this isn't even my native language.

But OK, I admit to the "noone" mistake but not "dependents" since both spellings seem to be right. Only some wankage about whether this is a recent spelling or not I guess.

Don't see why possessive form is in order here!

Damn, some people are running for spelling-Fuhrer on this thread.

2003-04-14 09:55:50 AM
It's "Fhrer". But props for knowing that German nouns are capitalized!

2003-04-14 09:58:40 AM
So Fark doesn't allow umlauts. Fascists.

2003-04-14 10:10:37 AM
if they allowed umlauts there would be a certain word, similar to fark, that could be used by smart-asses
