THat's the reason I'm never goin to NYC...to many killings, especially for stupid reasons

2003-04-13 11:15:47 PM
That'll show 'em.

2003-04-13 11:17:03 PM
This never happened when Giuliani was mayor.

2003-04-13 11:17:06 PM
Nic fit deluxe!

2003-04-13 11:17:09 PM
Boing, boing, boing, BOING!!

2003-04-13 11:17:12 PM
"Look buddy, you either put up with my secondary smoke, or you'll have to put up with my secondary bullets"

Everything the almighty Bill Hicks says eventually comes to fruition.

2003-04-13 11:17:23 PM
Well, smoking kills, and banning smoking kills...what will the nanny state in NYC do?

BTW Slim, NYC is safe compared to other cities, whatever other faults it has.

2003-04-13 11:17:36 PM
New NYC ban: No stabbings in any building where people congregate.

2003-04-13 11:17:43 PM
Someone got smoked because he wouldn't let other smoke. A little bit ironic, don't ya think?

2003-04-13 11:17:51 PM
Ching Chan. Probably still bitter from getting made fun of all through high school with a name like that.

2003-04-13 11:18:07 PM
See? Secondhand smoking CAN be dangerous!

2003-04-13 11:18:10 PM
brothers Johnathan and Ching Chang???

2003-04-13 11:18:21 PM
smoking kills

2003-04-13 11:19:06 PM
Kids, this might give you an idea as to how addictive tobacco is. People will kill other people in order to have a smoke....Think about it, won't you?

2003-04-13 11:19:10 PM
This doesn't appear to be the night for "sad" stories.

2003-04-13 11:19:18 PM
Blake's older brother, Tony Blake, said Sunday he blamed the death on the smoking ban. "I'm very bitter," he said. "It's a senseless murder because of this stupid cigarette law. That's the reason this guy was killed."

That tells me all that I need to hear. Give 'em the chair. Or the needle. Or strap 'em down in the gas chamber, whatever they do in NY.

2003-04-13 11:19:52 PM
Ching Chan
IN
"Up in Smoke"

2003-04-13 11:19:58 PM
I'm guessing not a whole of farkers got farked this weekend. Probably a better night for boobies.

2003-04-13 11:20:11 PM
He shouldn't have butt-ed in.

2003-04-13 11:20:13 PM
Damn if only i had thought of the jokes about being smoked by trying to stop smoking first...dammit!

2003-04-13 11:20:18 PM
yeah, what's stranger, brothers named Johnathan and Ching, or the guy who refers to his dead brother as "this guy"...

2003-04-13 11:20:20 PM
that was pretty pathetic to try and blame it on the ban. that's like saying "i would be in jail if only murder were legal." however, i feel this law sucks, (and i dont ever live near NY) and whether anyone else will admit it, the guy IS dead because of this retarded ban.

2003-04-13 11:20:32 PM
i like how the mayor bans cigarettes, yet when someone dies over it he says his thoughts are on the victims family.
I hope he clues into the fact that the family strongly disagrees with the smoking ban.

think

2003-04-13 11:21:05 PM
Chilly Willie "So it's the fault of the ban?"

Yep

"What about the Ching who killed the bouncer? Not his fault?"

His fault too.

You don't blame just Al Capone for Prohibition-era Chicagoland violence do you? The law obviously was a motivating factor.

2003-04-13 11:21:10 PM
So let's see...deaths in NYC attributable to second-hand smoke beyond a reasonable doubt in 2003: 0.

Deaths attributable to enforcing smoking ban: 1.

That a real toss-up for the behavior police. Let me guess how they'll come down on this one.

2003-04-13 11:21:55 PM
Seriously, someone got killed for a completely asanine reason, don't you people have anything better to do than make retarded jokes?

2003-04-13 11:21:59 PM
"Prosecutors had not decided Sunday whether to upgrade the charges because of Blake's death."

WTF?

i wonder how it would be handled in Arcata.

2003-04-13 11:22:29 PM
Obviously, the killer couldn't toke anymore.

2003-04-13 11:22:51 PM
Shader
don't you people have anything better to do than make retarded jokes?

Do you really have to ask?

Blake's older brother, Tony Blake, said Sunday he blamed the death on the smoking ban. "I'm very bitter," he said. "It's a senseless murder because of this stupid cigarette law. That's the reason this guy was killed."

Yeah, it didn't have anything to do with your younger freaking brother stabbing him or anything...

(allegedly)

2003-04-13 11:23:10 PM
I know this is terrible...but...Ching Chan.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

2003-04-13 11:23:26 PM
umm, manderx, he wasn't referring to his brother being dead, he was referring to the bouncer

2003-04-13 11:23:33 PM
Dimensio:

"That tells me all that I need to hear. Give 'em the chair. Or the needle. Or strap 'em down in the gas chamber, whatever they do in NY."

They do the "rehabilitation by hugging, release in 14 months" thing that is also popular in Massachusetts.

Blake's older brother, Tony Blake, said Sunday he blamed the death on the smoking ban. "I'm very bitter," he said. "It's a senseless murder because of this stupid cigarette law. That's the reason this guy was killed."

Hmm, I thought it was the knife or pencil or whatever was used by the Chan dude that killed his brother.

Guns don't kill people... I do!
*big toothless, closed lipped grin*

2003-04-13 11:24:29 PM
I'm with Manderx
I thought the "this guy" comment was weird.

2003-04-13 11:24:32 PM
Uh-huh. The guy was killed because of the smoking ban. The fact that the stabber was an asshat that didn't want to obey the rules and got violent when being thrown out doesn't have anything to do with it. The smoking thing only served as the basis for the situation happening. Dumbasses.

2003-04-13 11:25:20 PM
How many more people must die before congress realizes that criminalizing a drug is more dangerous than making it legal? If people like it, they will smoke it no matter what congress does and regardless who dies! Have we learned nothing from prohibition? We must legalize anything currently prohibited by our government in order to save lives! Anyone actually stupid enough to die while getting high is oviously too stupid to be of any use to society anyway.

You decide weither this is sarcasm or not.

VexedThespian
read the quote again...

Blake's older brother, Tony Blake said Sunday he blamed the death on the smoking ban. "I'm very bitter," he said. "It's a senseless murder because of this stupid cigarette law. That's the reason this guy was killed"

2003-04-13 11:26:18 PM
They should really try for that no-knifing ban next.

2003-04-13 11:26:25 PM
ok, im a moron, i thought the chang guy said that thing about the other thing, my bad

2003-04-13 11:26:43 PM
See, like I said in another thread...
Only stupid people get drunk... or is it only drunk people are stupid. Oh well, either way.

2003-04-13 11:26:48 PM
Yet another reason why pot should be legal, and tobacco should be banned.

Then they can still have their little war on drugs, and have nifty TV commercials like this...

A guy is smoking in a bar, the bouncer tells them they have to leave, and the smoker stabs the bouncer.

Then fade to black, and the words, "tobacco, harmless?" comes up.

/just a dumb thought.

Emperor-Jay
You are sounding awful sane tonight.

2003-04-13 11:27:00 PM
Blake's older brother, Tony Blake, said Sunday he blamed the death on the smoking ban. "I'm very bitter," he said. "It's a senseless murder because of this stupid cigarette law. That's the reason this guy was killed."

Yeah, that's right. It's the stupid law's fault. No reason for anybody to take responsability for stabbing the man to death.

2003-04-13 11:27:00 PM
Even though it's a stupid ban, it's not the fault here.

2003-04-13 11:27:13 PM
None of this would be happening if marijuana was legal....

2003-04-13 11:28:04 PM
Don't fark with pissed off smokers.

2003-04-13 11:28:11 PM
Calibash
Makes about as much sense as some of the anti-pot commercials I've seen.

2003-04-13 11:28:30 PM
perhaps I should rescind that fatwa I issued against the anti-smoking nazis.

2003-04-13 11:29:11 PM
Anyone caught disobeying the smoking law (or the cell phones in theaters one) should have one of their arms chopped off. Repeat offenders will have their second arm removed as well. Those who continue to break the two laws (however that's possible) will not be punished, as losing both arms is punishment enough.
