She's been stealing for years.

Nothing new to see here.

Stupid and young people see smiles and hope.

I see smug smirks and lies.

Right Side News? Is this serious?

FTA: "$101,429.14 for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol. (Lots and lots of alcohol.)"

Why is the period inside the parentheses?

This headline sucks.

And voting?

It's better for the country if she's drunk; the nonsense she spouts while she's sober is insane. I am glad to pay to keep her in an alcohol-induced haze to minimize the harm she can do.

Ditto here about being a general supporter of Democrats but thinking Pelosi is a f*cking waste of money, time, and space. She, and the whole Senate, can EABOD.

* Air Force planes are expensive.
* Passengers like food and drinks when trapped inside a plane for hours on end.
* Speaker of the House is third in line of Presidency and can't fly commercial.

Big effing deal. What was Newt Gingrich's bill?

2010-01-30 12:13:50 AM
THe unfortunate thing is that they could have made this a reasonable article on overspending by a representative had they taken the time to compare her expenses to a) other representatives and b) past speakers of the house.

I have no doubt she's spending too much money. I just don't know whether it's a departure for the normal overspending or if she really excelling in that category. There's really no reason to present the issue as a partisan one.

Open Mike Night: Why is the period inside the parentheses?

It's allowed when a complete sentence is in the parentheses. The period and parentheses rules give me a headache. Along with things like, how do you end a sentence that ends with 'etc.'.

The period is supposed to be inside the parentheses if the sentence is complete. (So this is correct.) This is also correct (assuming I understand the rules).

I'm a wanna-be grammar, punctuation and spelling nazi, so correct me if I'm wrong.

It's kinda hard to screw up what's spent on liquor when the FOIA request actually breaks it out for you. What they fail to mention is the almost $1,000 a week spent wasn't for Pelosi herself, but undoubtedly her staff.

I'm not sure that makes me feel any better about it.

Reason #4332498 why voters should toss out every single friggin' one of them and start fresh with a whole new batch of 435 Congresspersons.

There is no need to even elect the opposite party... put in all kinds of 3rd party noobs... they couldn't possibly fark it up any worse than has already been done.

For security reasons, the President does not fly into a foreign country alone...there are other planes flown in as decoys. I saw this on the History Channel. Or TLC. Maybe Discover. The documentary was about Bush flying into Iraq.
