I don't think people will care.

They should be worried. Anyone who has done any research into this cannot help but reach the conclusion that they were clearly involved in his death. The evidence speaks volumes people. They were never investigated because of their political ties and the fact they were making millions.

Actually, I don't even know who these people are, and I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'd make a damn good politician. Please ignore this post.

This is SO old. Everybody knows Courtney Love killed Brian Jones.
2003-04-13 03:39:57 PM
"I shouted out, 'Who killed the Kennedys?', when, after all, it was you and me. Well, damn, that's proof enough for me. You are under arrest, and so am I. Now about this Brian Jones character, the evidence clearly leads to the unwholesome friendship between Mr. Jones and an American actor named Bob Crane. Follow the money.

Luckily, Drummers are the only things known to spontaneously combust.

Bloody 'ell, we'd better get the pool filled up again, then.

What year is it? Hmmm, 2003.

What difference does this make decades later?

Brian Jones is dead? I thought he went on to found some fundamentalist college down south.

If you look carefully enough, you can see the whole thing on the Zapruder tape.

Brian Jones knew how to live the rock n' roll lifestyle. He is, undoubtedly, a badass mother farker....but not as much as this guy, who he is compared to.

Brain Jones was a completely different kind of person than Keith Moon.

badass mother farker = dead substance abuser
2003-04-13 04:25:13 PM
yeah, i know GEAH, but i see them being compared a lot in musical articles and whatnot because they both were drummers in famous rock bands, and they were killed by drugs (ok, Brian is arguable).
2003-04-13 05:05:03 PM
Irockalot: when did brian drum for the stones, mate?
2003-04-13 05:11:48 PM
since i became an idiot, Notoneword. That was a little slip up.
2003-04-13 05:22:04 PM
ok so you kick a guy out because he's farked up all the time. i've done that. that never killed anyone. dumbass.
2003-04-13 06:05:15 PM
".....he was murdered after Jagger and Richards virtually fired him because drugs had made him unable to contribute to the group.

Wait a minute, isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black?

Paul Bettany (he also played Russell Crowe's "roommate" in "A Beautiful Mind", here's his imdb listing), and Brian Jones. Resemblance enough. From what I've seen of Bettany he's a decent actor. I'll check out this film, could be interesting, or it could be watchable in a trashy way.

The Rolling Stones should be worried about the approaching cloaked figure in the hood...

Irockalot, you don't rock much.

Where in the world did you get the idea that Brian Jones was a drummer?

Does the name Charlie Watts ring a bell with you?
2003-04-13 09:07:30 PM
we've already gone over that GEAH, i messed up. I'm not rocking so much today after the comment. But yes, i know Brian Jones and Charlie Watts.

just based on that photo, I thought Jagger was the corpse...

If you've ever seen "Sympathy for the Devil," Brian was barely "there" by then. I'm not sure if they were even putting a mike on him.

This is a story, a very special story.
It's about Brian Jones, one of the Rolling Stones.

Where were you when the stars went out?
Where were you when they started to shout?
I saw you alone by the pool,
and all your friends called you a fool.
Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar.

And you were so beautiful, you were so very special,
I wish I was with you now, I wish I could save you somehow.

Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar.
(Echoing chorus): Brian, Brian, Brian.
Brian, Brian, Brian.
Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar.

Where were all your friends that night
as you switched off the final light?
I saw your body in the water
Like a lamb going to the slaughter

And where were all of your laughing friends?
Where were they at the very end?
They started to steal your glory
They never even told your story

Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar.

They fear the reputations of singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards will be trashed and the blame for Jones' descent from angelic pop icon to dissolute junkie will be laid at their door.

I think it's common knowledge that the Rolling Stones 'dabbled' in drugs.
2003-04-14 02:56:06 AM
I think the Stones do aspirin to reduce the likelihood of a heart attack.
2003-04-14 10:47:20 AM
Former junkie friends of Keith Richards (see Tony Sanchez, Keith's dealer, wrote the farcical "Up and Down with the Rolling Stones") don't make the best sources I would think.

Bill Wyman covers the subject of Jones' death extensively in his book, Stone Alone. And people in far worse shape than Jones' have come back and had succesful careers.

2003-04-14 07:17:37 PM
Mick Taylor's the only guitarist to quit the Stones and live.
