So, it is extremely difficult, but it doesn't provide an excuse for bad decision making. One of my best friends in highschool is female-to-male, and when he moved to New York City, during sort of a transitionary period while the hormones were still doing their thing, it was really hard to get a job. So, um, he turned to prostitution. On craigslist. We sort of fell out of touch, but I remember checking out what services he rendered last year, and one that was specifically mentioned...I don't remember the name of it, but it involved inserting the tops of both feet into someone's ass and sort of bicycling. I'm not even sure how that works, but I swear to god the price seemed reasonable.

But yeah, a lot of trannies I've known have done some tricking.

Oh trust me I know. I got it even better. I'm a true hermaphrodite, I didn't even get the choice. I have a lot of admiration for the people who go through with reassignment. They are some of the very few people who really know who and what they are. Most people take their lives for granted. Transsexuals sacrifice everything to get there, and that takes a lot. How many of the religious fundies who are the first to cast stones have ever given up anything to accomplish something?

While they may be responsible, people ultimately make others suffer needlessly and often for no real reason that simple prejudice on something they really know nothing about.

Segregate them to their own prison to relieve their feelings of isolation.

I've long considered myself lucky in that respect, but have always made a point of reminding myself that that's all it was, really... dumb luck. Dumb luck that I was born into the whole mess, and dumb luck that I turned out to have the luxury of having control over whom I share my history with. It's easy to put the cart before the horse and assume that someone is more "real" or deserving based on how easy of a time they have of it, or, particularly, how easy on the eyes they turn out to be... especially if you fall into the insidious "just world fallacy" trap.
