Meh, I liked the Vancouver scenes from Caprica more, and there was a story and a Zooey Deschanel knock-off.

Cool beans nonetheless.

I live in many of those shots. Right downtown. Can see my place amidst the clouds (and yes, they are CLOUDS. It is dull, grey, and wet here. Not fog, not mystical ambience. CLOUDS -- cuz we live in a RAINforest). It's 9 degrees these days, btw (that's 48.1 in fag temperature). So stupidly warm, and cloudy, and wet. This is going to be the most non-winter Winter Olympics ever. I can't wait to see how many locals protest having our own Games here. Buncha NIMBYs in this town. It's gonna be awesome.

And what's with the music? Holy shiat, lame post-progressive multi-tap delay James Holden-stylebiting twinkleprog nonsense, with farking Above and Beyond-stealing aimless meandering, breathy vocals and cutesy Robert Miles-ripoff piano lines? I hate this music. So farking contrived and derivative. It wasn't even cool back in 2003 when every brit wanker producer was caning it. Good god does this suck. Knock it off.

It is a beautiful city, though.

Okay, subby, that was a lot cooler than I expected it to be. The coolest part (to me) was that some of the shots looked like you were looking at a tiny model of a city rather than an actual one. Not sure what camera tricks they did to get that, or if it's just an artifact of the filming process.

Yes, it's a video of the town you live in. Take a deep breath and calm down a little. You're gonna get jizz all over the ceiling. NOBODY wants that.

I turned off the vid after about 2:30 because the music was annoying. I'm glad you're here to tell me WHY the music was annoying.

This pretty much sums up why visiting Vancouver is nice if you can avoid the locals.

St. Spuzzum: Where are the homeless? I notice there were no shots of the Downtown Eastside.

See, now that would have been awesome. High-def, HDR footage of bums stumbling across Hastings into moving traffic, the streetlights gleaming and sparkling in reflections off of the filthy crowds of insane people and meth addicts at the corner of Main Street. All soundtracked against Enya or something similar. Someone should seriously put that together.

/Vancouver is a nice city with a grotesquely overblown opinion of itself. It's Cincinnati, but thinks its Manhattan.

True story:
Intern week on the CBC.

Intern chick is reading the news- something about immigration being up.

"And thats why they call it -HONG-couver."

Immediate dead silence on the air.

15 seconds later the regular guy comes back on "Well.. she won't be back. Lets go to a commercial, thanks for listening to CBC!"

Living in Vancouver now- Its very pretty, for sure. The mountains are spectacular looking. Some nice folks but so far it seems to lack soul. Its similar to Seattle in some ways (NIMBY-ism for starters, also the rain, but people in Van complain about it alot more), but it lacks some of the character that Seattle and the Pacific Northwest have. It might be that most people I've met in Vancouver seem to be from somewhere else. Also, the beer is far inferior to what can be found south of the border. But all in all, not bad, and a great place to live if you like the outdoors. There are alot of fit, attractive, young, well-off people running around- for better or worse, depending on your tastes.

That should be put to Foggy Mountain Breakdown.

Looks nice.

Should be fun when they try to show the skiing and the fog whites it out.
