So we have our troops playing "52 Pick-up" eh?

2003-04-11 01:43:55 PM
Hlx - that was seriously funny. Thanks.

And lets not forget - these cards are people who may be 'Pursued, Killed or Detained.'

Death Warrants in playing card form, after hostilities, without trial.

Lovely.

Cards eh? I have a bunch of these from back in '91, including Saddam Hussein and Tariq Aziz in near-mint condition. Think they're worth anything?

I wonder who's on the "How to play stud poker" card.

And whatever happened to Tariq Aziz? I may have just answered my own question.

This is a much more interesting, albeit dated deck:

And the irony is, neither Bush or Hussein is "playing with a full deck".

Hey Saddam, better watch you sixes...

2003-04-11 02:26:33 PM

And here I was, thinking the Joker was Bush.

I think it sucks that after all this hooplah pretty much all the senior Iraqui officers are still roaming around free. They'd have to be absolute morons if they are still in Iraq.

Gavino - "after hostilities" - maybe I've been spending too much time farking, but...the shootings over?? How long ago did Tikrit surrender??

Can any of you name these 55?? More importantly, do you know what all 55 of them look like?? Right, but some amongst you will be the first to lambaste some "dumb jarhead" should he let one of them slip through his post. May have been a little busy to watch CNN to know what Baghdad Bob looks like. More like the old flash-card plane identifier cards. Putting a playing deck on them just to give a small reason to not just throw them away.

I can just imagine a couple of marines thumbing through each other's cards:

Got'm...

Got'm...

Got two of'm...

Got'm...

Need'm...

Got'm...

Nanoo

Ach!

Choo!

Bondith beat me to it.

Only because somebody else beat me to the poker reference.

Several people
52 Pickup anyone?

B-52 pickup. Or smackdown. Either one works.

I'd buy two decks if the DOD sold them

I'd buy two decks if the DOD sold them

Really? If the DOD sold them they'd be $300 a deck since you know they're paying their contractor at least $200 a deck.

Huge files! My modem surrenders.

But thanks for the link.

I like how they have a part number for everything. It's not a deck of ID cards. It's "Personality identification cards 030411-D-6570C-001".

I expected more from the picture labeled "A U.S. Marine shares some time with an Iraqi girl."

Isn't this guy selling property of the US Government? Regardless, just by looking at the photo I'm willing to bet these things are just digital copies/prints on regular cardstock. 'Novelty' wouldn't quite describe how cheap I suspect they are.
