John Nash: fat aristotle: Favre hardly taketh away today.

He throws a pick in coverage, ok, bad throw.

Fumbles galore (not his fault, not even the AP handoff) and a farking 12-men penalty where Longwell was in range.

Unfarvringbelievable.

I am also familiar with these excuses. In Green Bay we always blamed the defense, the special teams, anyone but Brett....but the result was always the same.

when you get back to the playoffs without him you can complain about how bad he was

I find it funny people are touting that FG opportunity as something that would have won the game more than half the time. They had a 1st down with a 51 yard FG attempt...why did they call horrid running plays the next two to end up still having a 51 yard FG attempt? The 12th man was unfortunate but hardly the curse to that FAIL that people are claiming it was. Horrible play calling capped off by a terrible throw decision by Favre. 56 Yard attempt is still more likely to win the game for your team than throwing a pick.

Mrtraveler01: cameroncrazy1984: Mrtraveler01: cptjeff: That's a crappy conference championship trophy.

This is a conference championship trophy:

This is also an acceptable trophy:

I have to say the NHL's got all the other professional sports leagues in fancy trophies.

I would have to agree. Have you seen the President's Trophy? Damn!

/kidding

Considering that's the closest the Blues have gotten to a Stanley Cup, I really can't disparage it.

/still not as nice as the others though.

They played in the final a few times... Remember how they're in that photo of Bobby Orr?

Genevieve Marie: mikaloyd: Genevieve Marie: Perfect thread for this!!! New Orleans Fark Party January 30th at Madigan's uptown. COME! Our livers need some training if we're going to get through the Super Bowl AND Mardi Gras.

Do you have any tears in your eyes?

I do. I just posted about that on facebook. I'm not a huge football fan but my mother is and has been a Saints fan since 1967. She watched before the Super Dome was BUILT. She buys her season tickets every year, no matter how bad a year they're having, and goes out and hopes and says "next year."

So yea, thank you Saints for making my mom probably the happiest she's ever been in her life.

That's great; I hope your mom's celebrating right now.

Mentat: This is what I want to see in the Super Bowl:

4th quarter, 2 minute warning. Saints are ahead 35-31. Colts have the ball at their own 5 yard line. Archie and Eli Manning are sitting in the stands wearing their Peyton Manning Colts jerseys, clutching each others hands. Payton Manning begins an epic drive down the field, not too fast, not too slow. The Saints do their best, but it's clear they're winded. Manning moves the ball past midfield. 40 yard line. 30. 20. 10. There are just second left on the clock now, time for one more play. The Saints call their last timeout, desperate for any respite from the Manning onslaught. The refs are huddled on the field and... what's this? Eli Manning is on the field arguing with the refs! What is going on? Peyton Manning is confused, he doesn't know what his brother is doing! And now Archie is on the field! It-it looks like he's trying to calm Peyton down and OH MY GAWD! OH MY GAWD KING! ARCHIE MANNING JUST HIT HIS SON WITH A STEEL CHAIR! PEYTON MANNING IS ON THE GROUND CLUTCHING HIS KNEE AND HIS FATHER IS STANDING OVER HIM! OH MY GAWD, ARCHIE MANNING IS PULLING OFF HIS COLTS JERSEY AND HE'S WEARING A VINTAGE ARCHIE MANNING SAINTS JERSEY! THE CROWD GOES WILD AS PEYTON MANNING LIES SCREAMING ON THE TURF! OH MY GAWD KING, I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS! WHY, ARCHIE MANNING, WHY? TELL ME WHY YOU SON OF A BIATCH, TELL ME WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

THAT SUPER BOWL HAS A FAMILY DAMNIT!!

The Bills made 4 in the 90s, the Seahawks lost to the refs a few years ago, and the Bengals lost to Montana's 49ers, so they have all MADE a Super Bowl
