As a Canadian I can say I'm outraged. We do NOT give rides to our criminals on a "horsey".

We treat them to a run around on a zamboni.

You know, for a guy who claims his days at the Don Jail were so horrendously awful that he should be entitled to compensation, he's not putting in much effort to stay out of there.

(I do think he's right. The Don Jail is probably the worst jail in Canada, one of the oldest, and doesn't meet even minimum UN standards. Innocent people plead guilty just to get out of there and into the posh confines of prison. That place should have been shut down a century ago.)

But god damn, it's hard to support such a tool.

1. F-R-I-V-O-L-O-U-S

2. Being left without a way to clean your own piss & shiat off of yourself and forced to drag your bedsored ass around a prison cell all day until you get MRSA and wind up in the hospital for a year and a half is, in most people's books, a pretty good reason to sue somebody.

Can we just stop including marijuana in headlines as though it is bad? Cocaine, ok. Guns, ok. MDMA, maybe (Prof. David Nutt would disagree). But marijuana? OH NOES! Not a harmless, pain/stress relieving substance that causes no deaths worldwide every year!

Never sue the police; they will fark your world up. Just count your lucky stars that you made it out of custody without being permanently disfigured or otherwise damaged. Thank them kindly for the humiliating and dehumanizing treatment that ultimately caused you to be hospitalized for a year and a half, and be on your way.

I agree with the other poster that Toronto does not represent Canada. Canada really wants nothing to do with the wannabe NYC Toronto. It is just something we kind of look embarrassed when someone mentions. Kind of like Celine Dion and Bryan Adams.

LOL, bow to your Torontonian betters. We give hope to fellow Canucks lost in the wilderness, unable to stop wearing flannel and banging their cousins in clapboard shacks across the nation. One day, even YOU might become as cool as a Torontonian, but it will take practice. Good luck!

On one hand, I can totally appreciate that all inmates should be given reasonable access to toilet and hygiene facilities... or put in a nursing ward as necessary...

on the other hand he's clearly set himself up in a situation where police could reasonably argue that he would take advantage of every reasonable accommodation in order to further facilitate dangerous and illegal action.

Your statement is representative of all zero of the police who work at the Don Jail as prison guards.

A) If the information in that lawsuit is correct the jail definitely needs to be sued and major reforms need to take place.

B) Don't you think it would have been a good idea to, I don't know, NOT deal drugs etc in order to stay out of that shiathole? I'm just saying, if I had an experience like that I would have found another line of work.

What's the difference between the drugs he was selling to that undercover cop, and the drugs the pharmaceutical companies shove down our throats? Nothing if you ask me (beside the fact that one is legal, and one isn't).

I considered that some jackass might come along and try to whitewash the obvious correlation here, but thought "nah, nobody would be asinine enough to imply that police and prison guards are so unrelated as to be unaffected by the fraternal obligations for which their professions are widely known." Thanks for stepping up to the plate and reminding me that no position, regardless of its absurdity, is out of bounds to Fark regulars.

See that's it right there. They have an almost American understanding of what Canadians are. Maybe even less. This is why we don't let them out of Toronto.

I don't even think Charles Bronson would thumbs-up the idea of carrying around a handgun in a farking hospital.

Who the heck is this guy's doctor, anyway?
