With those Fs, I wonder if he was even going to graduate on time, or if his parents are using this as an excuse for why he won't...

I thought student records were protected private information... how does the media know what classes he's passed and failed... unless his family gave consent to release the information oO

According to TFA, Deliverance boy freely offered that information up. Aunt Mom and Uncle Dad must be proud of this one.

"Tudesko said his grades have ranged from high marks in shop classes to F's in subjects such as English, math and history."

Sounds like he offered up the information himself. And he sounds proud of the marks.

In May 2008, he was assigned Saturday school after he used racial slurs to disrupt a showing of "To Kill a Mockingbird," repeatedly saying the "N" word.

Reactionists will blame MST3K. The nincompoops.

The kid sounds like a total dipshiat but I don't see how they can do anything if the truck was off school property. Is there some numerically defined zone around a school where he can't park? What if he left the truck at home and walked? Parked at Walmart? Where does their authority end?

My guess is that this kid has been a shiat the whole time and they've been looking for an excuse to get him out, and that's why they ran the dogs by his truck. Kind of like getting Al Capone on an income tax violation--they'll take what they can get. That said, if he was parked off campus, unfortunately for them, I don't think they have a case--to me, they were clearly outside the bounds of their authority. Pity, though, if he's really as much of a pain in the ass as he's coming across as being.

I wish he was in my class when we had to watch that along with a absolutely horrible video of "Macbeth".

Kid may be a big of a jerk, but that still doesn't justify the actions the school took.

Pretty much. Just because he's yer average redneck hick doesn't mean the laws should apply to him differently. Being an asshole or stupid isn't against the law, mostly, and until then I don't see how they have a case.

Just wait until being stupid or an asshole is illegal. No more Fark Politics tab, that's for sure.

Very curious - Is "Stupid Mexican" a racial slur?

/Mexican
//didn't do well in school
///stupid mexican(t)?

2010-01-18 04:34:03 PM
Logical Question:

So its ok to take someone's constitutional rights away if they are stupid and racist?

/If thats the case, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan and Jessie Jackson might be in for a very unpleasant surprise....

2010-01-18 04:36:35 PM
Hes a dipshiat, but he didnt do anything wrong regarding the gun.

Well, leaving a gun in your car is kinda dumb, but not illegal and of no business of his school.

2010-01-18 04:36:48 PM
The whole "busted off-campus" thing isn't new. It's entirely stupid, but not new. Schools do that shiat all the time.

He probably signed some stupid code of conduct agreement at some point.

/don't sign those

2010-01-18 04:37:57 PM
All he has to do now is insult left-handed, red-headed, Mennonite toothless cripples and he's set for life. If you're going to insult all manner of people, make sure you get every class in existence or your life's work will fall short of your expectations.

Um, "Mexican" does not denote a "race", but instead a national origin. It's like calling someone a retarded Frenchman (redundant, I know).

I think the issue is that he made it an issue at all. If you think a person is stupid, call them "stupid." Adding race to the insult sounds like he thought being Mexican itself was a negative.

That was pretty much my graduating class.
But the question still remains: DID HE BREAK ANY LAWS?

Sounds like the kid wasn't actually "off campus", either:

"In an interview, he said the argument that Tudesko parked off campus is misleading. The street he was parked on bisects the campus and abuts the school's tennis courts, he said."

2010-01-18 04:40:59 PM
Pay the Man: Um, "Mexican" does not denote a "race", but instead a national origin. It's like calling someone a retarded Frenchman (redundant, I know).

The context in which the student used it implies ethnicity. I'm assuming the teacher's aide was latino, but American.

Did he also write the headline?

ragekage: Pretty much. Just because he's yer average redneck hick doesn't mean the laws should apply to him differently. Being an asshole or stupid isn't against the law, mostly, and until then I don't see how they have a case.

They probably have some stupid zero-tolerance rule that includes immediate expulsion for storing weapons close to campus.

Either that or they were looking for any excuse to get rid of the little shiat.

2010-01-18 04:44:05 PM
If they can enforce campus law off campus, then they can suspend a student for have a gun at home.

Crosshair: In May 2008, he was assigned Saturday school after he used racial slurs to disrupt a showing of "To Kill a Mockingbird," repeatedly saying the "N" word.

Cool, my wife and I just watched To Kill a Mockingbird a couple of months ago. Great movie!

Can anybody tell me, without looking it up, the make of the rifle Gregory Peck's character used to dispatch the rabid dog in the middle of the street?

/I know...nothing is obscure on Fark

2010-01-18 04:44:26 PM
Okay, so the kid sound likes a dipshiat and may be a drain on society if/when he ever graduates.

Nevertheless, if the gun wasn't on campus (as he'd parked on campus), expelling him for it being in his car is LUDICROUS.

Now, it's probably *constitutional* (Thank you, Bong Hits 4 Jesus case, there won't be ANY unintended consequences from YOU), but it's idiotic.

2010-01-18 04:44:33 PM
Remember the days when prior offenses weren't used against someone to render a verdict for a current accusation?

HAHAHA! Nah, neither do I!

2010-01-18 04:44:56 PM
California has a Gun free school zone act, prohibiting a firearm within 1000 feet of schools, so there's that. Not saying it's right at all, but it's on the books and they may use it against him if it fits.

/once got pulled over for speeding across the street from an elementary school with two shotguns in the car
//opening day of pheasant season - cool story
