To be fair, Dominos is raising expectations with their new marketing scheme.

I never saw the point to taking out aggression on service industry people. Even when they're rude or useless, one should keep in mind they have some of the most thankless jobs out there and, occasionally, they'll be having a shiatty day.

I don't understand people who don't tip delivery people. They are driving to your house so your fat ass desn't have to go out, the least you could do is throw them a fiver.

/The Thai place a order from brought me a bottle of wine of X-Mas Eve. I didn't even order anything from them that day.

Some people are simply assholes.

In this case, wait until the civil lawsuit. The guy who punched him is going to be paying for a very, very long time.

I've had a few delivery guys thank me for tipping them when I pay with plastic. Turns out that most people just rewrite the total and sign it.

Indeed. When we perceive service personnel to be something less than human, then it becomes perfectly acceptable to punch them for lousy service.

I agree with BunkyBrewman - the civil lawsuit should be rather expensive, as morons who think with their fists should be billed appropriately.

As someone who fought an awful lot in high school... sucker punching someone is a nice way of letting them know you're really a big pussy. And would usually = watch your back later.

I have never understood why some people will tip the waitress for delivering food from the kitchen, but not tip a guy who drove your food across town.

I do pay a delivery fee, so the restaurant is paying the driver.

On the other hand, I do tip my driver, so he tends to go to my house first on his delivery route and brings paper plates, extra napkins, etc.

2010-01-18 03:37:07 PM
So the people don't tip and then biatch at the guy as he is leaving for "not being polite enough"?

What a sorry family.

2010-01-18 03:37:41 PM
I go out of my way to tip.

One time I made the horrible mistake of ordering via a CC, and the bastards didn't include the usual 'tip' line on the receipt. I didn't have any cash on me of course (lol this is 2010 who carries cash?!), so I did the next best thing!

Wow. I was going to saw the same thing, in almost the same words.

Just once I would love to see:

"My son/husband/brother is a cock and robbed a a bank. He can rot in prison for all I care"

Rather than an article where a guy is caught on camera robbing a store, while raping a chicken and killing 3 cops and the mom says:

"My son is an angel. He has never once done anything wrong in his life, and he is the sweetest person imaginable. " and the mug shot shows him with fark da Police and gang tats all over his face

My specific opinions on Chicago-style aside, if you're living in or just outside that city, why on Earth would you order from *Pizza Hut*?

PH and Domino's are for people who don't even have a local, non-chain pizza joint.

// The husband too

Dominos & Pizza Hut both charge a "delivery fee" out here ($2.50+). After paying that, I don't feel the need to tip more than $1-2. Don't like it, talk to your boss.

For the wife:

At common law, battery is the tort of intentionally and voluntarily bringing about an unconsented harmful or offensive contact with a person or to something closely associated with them (e.g. a hat, a purse). Unlike assault, battery involves an actual contact.

I delivered pizza in college, it sucked, but you made decent cash for only having to work 3 or 4 hours a night. I did it for 2 years and probably would have another year. I decided to quit when a guy I had worked with for 2 years was shot in the back of the head by 5 kids wanting the 35 and change he had on him.

Good point, I do agree with that... as I had some last night. But this is pizza hut.
