It amazes me how that agency that should have been a flagship in the "Keep America Safe" paranoia movement of this past decade is in fact staffed with complete morons from the very top to the very bottom.

But seriously folks..civil and criminal action is needed against these assclowns. And everyone who so easily points out these flaws in their security deserves a goddamned medal.

Actually, quite wrong. They're staffed with morons from the near top to the bottom. There isn't somebody at the top. one republican senator has been preventing holding up Obama's guy, who was planning to reform the entire agency.

I wonder if the person that went through the door knew that the door shouldn't have been opened. Why wasn't it key-carded or at least locked if it wasn't supposed to be opened?

Every time there's a freak out like this and it turns out to be nothing, the person in charge should get butt raped with an electric drill. I farking hate this stupid nancy shiat. If this is what America has become in the face of a bunch of caveman terrorists, then America deserves to die.

....in defense of TSA (yeh here come the flames and no I dont work for them), they usually dont have TSA employees manning every employee door in the port. Normally secure area doors use a biometric scanner and card reader to operate them and they are monitored by security cam and have alarm systems if breeched. If someone breaches a door or sets off the door alarm it's usually the Port Authority PD and Airport Operations/communication centers job to respond not TSA although it could be different at JFK

either way they both fail.

2010-01-17 06:14:41 AM
The only way to fix this is to throw more money at it. That'll do it. It's the American way. No reform, just money that isn't tracked and is probably spent on higher-ups who need hookers and blow.

USA! USA! USA!

Whomever is in charge needs their butt kicked. We can not grind the nations transportation infrastructure to a halt every time someone walks through the wrong door. This is the classic definition of chaos, whereby an insignificant event has astronomical consequences.

How is it a controlled access point isn't secured by a keypad or a card-swipe device? Circumvent the fallability of the average human drone. When will the TSA get their shiat together?

Part of me thinks this is a right-wing conspiracy to show how current gov't agencies are concerned enough with terrorism because of Obama's socialist influence, and also to create fear and panic in order to take away more of our civil liberties and to control the world.

The other part wants to punch every TSA person in the face for being a dick about taking my toothpaste away because it's one ounce over the limit and then lets this bullshiat happen.

Prosecution isn't the problem. The problem is it's so easy to do. Isn't TSA supposed to be providing security? Wouldn't that suggest it would be impossible to just walk through a door into a restricted area, even if you somehow penetrate the implied threat of the very threatening sign on the door?

And once the person is out there, doesn't it worry anyone that they can never find the trespasser? They have no idea where he went. So we just unload the whole terminal and start over.

That is not security. That is stupidity.

You could execute this guy and perhaps deter the next moron. But the security wasn't put there to save us from morons. If it can't save us from morons is there any chance it will stop terrorists?

Well, it sucks, but what would you suggest?

Ideally, the secure area would never be breached, but it happens. You don't know who the guy is that did it. You're the Head Monkey at the TSA desk.

Call a few more people out and have them do a quick wanding of everyone as they walk out the gate.

Oh, and review the security footage and print out a picture of the guy.

cptjeff: Call a few more people out and have them do a quick wanding of everyone as they walk out the gate.

Wanding doesn't detect explosives. Furthermore, the camera in the area is malfunctioning (as it was last time this happened) and footage is unavailable.

Your careless solution has just resulted in a dirty bomb going off in (insert airport here).

Would you like your posessions identified?

1. Velvet ropes look nice but they don't do shiat. And they certainly don't adequately separate a secure area from a non-secure area. Put up a farking wall.

2. Doors that the general public should not go through should be locked. Preferably with a card key system that monitors who opened the door, when it was opened, and for how long it was opened. Depending on the door, a camera might be nice there too.

3. The terminal exit area should not just be open. Install turnstiles like they have at theme parks. One way and large enough for a pull-a-long and a stroller to fit through.

4. If all that shiat you collect is as dangerous as you say it is then:
DON'T STORE IT ALL IN A BIG BIN RIGHT THERE AT THE SECURITY CHECK POINT!
IF it's dangerous then each item should be disposed of as it's collected. Just having it sit there at the checkpoint just makes you look like a douche.

Your security theater is a lie and the people know that it's a lie. Most people will still go along as long as the lie is good. Not only is this lie bad, it insults the intelligence of the mentally challenged. Time to fire everyone and start over.

Can someone explain to me what good shutting down the whole freakin' airport does?

I mean, suppose this guy really had been a terrorist, with a knife or gun or something. You caught him, great. Then... evacuate the entire airport? Are you serious? What the hell?

Well, if he got in with X, where X is 100% unknown (bomb, gun, knife)
If he handed it off to someone else, or planted a bomb, basically, the entire airport and everyone in it has been compromised. The best solution? I dunno, but it's their reasoning
