Having browsed Youtube comments before, I'm of the firmly established belief that the writers of said comments should dictate how our society is managed.

I've been watching this for awhile.

I was angered to see that the supporters on his youtube page are all pre-approved comments; no negative comments were approved. That was what they used to bolster his support, and get people from all over the world to write letters in support of this monster. As a metter of fact, some of the comments on this article were also found, word for word, in other comment sections on other news sites, and also word for word on youtube. It's like some massive underground support system for this creep. Yet, they acknowledge the horrors and refuse to condemn them. Because he sang "pretty woman" on youtube. Pathetic.

And, before the people come in and say "he served his time, etc," let it be known that he deliberately fled and moved to a new location, and failed to register as a sex offender because "his neighbors were harassing him."

Sex offenders get no quarter as far as I'm concerned, particularly when a minor is involved.

He was arrested in 1987 for molesting a 14-year old boy. He was 49 or so at the time. He also violated parole in 2006 when he didn't notify the courts he moved. That was when they told him not to have a computer.

Had to read the article.

Good ol' US justice system. Putting senior citizens in prison over some trivial little youtube vids (especially for a 20-something year old crime) sounds like an excellent use of taxpayer money.

He diddled some young boy in the 80's. Laid low for awhile, resurfaced, and got some ridiculous and rabid following because of youtube.

I love this comment:

I EVEN QUESTION WHY OR IF HE WAS REALLY TOLD IN 1980 HE COULD NOT USE A COMPUTER WHEN THERE WAS NOT MUCH A WWW TO PLAY ON IN THE 80'S, LIKE THERE IS TODAY. WFTV GET THE PAPER WORK, DO YOU YOUR JOB. THIS IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT MURDERING SCUM BAG CASEY ANTHONY'S COMMISSARY LIST. OH HOW I WISH I WAS A PRACTICING ATTORNEY IN THE STATE OF JUDICIAL TYRANNY~!! THIS JUDGE MUST BE RELATED TO RIC HOWARD~!! PFFFFFT~!

This 80's WWW sounds intriguing...

Putting seniors in prison who deliberately commit a crime seems fine to me.

Sex offender laws are a joke. You can kill someone and your neighbors won't ever find out, but screw a 17 year old and your life is effectively over. I think this whole thing is a complete waste of time, the guy wasn't hurting anyone.

You'd say different if it was your cornhole he was trying to put his beanbag in back in the 80's.

This

Why do we have registries for sex offenders but not for other (even more serious) crimes?

It's a farking retarded law.

I think as a society we handle crimes against adults a lot better than crimes against a child/woman which is why they have the registrars for sex offenders. But the proper punishment for raping a two-year old isn't jail time, it's death.

Because sex offenders don't kill their victims, making it a more heinous act. Put the victim out of its misery and no one cares.

That's BS and you know it. Real-life actual sex offenders are scum. I'm not talking about public urination convictions, and you know that. I'm talking about people who do time for touching children.

Are the laws a little weird? Perhaps, but as weird as they are, they do the job they are intended to do, and that's keeping children safe from real offenders.

Except when you get popped and listed as a sex offender for taking a leak in public, or being naked in your own home due to a peeping tom, that's not really a crime against a child or woman is it?

There is zip, zilch, nada reason for such a registry to exist. Nevermind the abuse of it, the criminal background of everyone is already a matter of public record. If you really are that paranoid, and that nosy, then you can background check everyone you know the same way that the farking FBI does before hiring anyone.

Personally, I think that if I were a parent and a sex offender convicted of molesting children moved onto my street, I'd appreciate a letter warning me to keep my kids away from their yard. That's what it was intended to do. Is it abused? Yes. Do people get caught up in it that shouldn't be? Yes. But I get the logic behind it and don't think it's a bad idea.

HOly shiat I remember this guy's show! When I lived in Tulsa we picked up one of the Kansas City channels. As I remember it was pretty funny. I could swear when he left Kansas he went to Texas and did another show for about a year.

May I spooge on your face: The no-computer thing is a stupid condition, but not nearly as stupid as blatantly breaking said condition. No sympathy.

I get the point of that too- keep them away from chat and social networking which could be used to gain the trust of a minor and also to keep them from communicating with other pedophiles or accessing child porn.

2010-01-16 07:54:05 PM
Genevieve Marie: Yes. But I get the logic behind it and don't think it's a bad idea.

And I'd appreciate them warning me if there were any convicted thieves, murderers, rapists, fundies, card-players, drunks, simonists, sodomites, or (insert other socially unacceptable action) too.

When the state abuses a system, it has lost the trust it had to use that tool in a responsible manner, and that tool should be taken away.

What was that old addage about "100 guilty men go free than one innocent be convicted"?
