2003-04-09 07:41:17 AM
For every bad cop, there are ten who keep their mouths shut about him, and none who speak up. Fark the police.
2003-04-09 07:42:03 AM
2003-04-09 07:48:41 AM
actually, i'd prefer this way of paying for traffic violations...
2003-04-09 07:48:43 AM
I think five years per count would be more appropriate.
2003-04-09 07:50:25 AM
For Every bad cop, there are ten who serve and protect the people... ... hahahahahahahahahaha... sorry.
2003-04-09 07:52:15 AM

It's not illegal for cops here in Northern Ireland to make you remove your socks and shoes in the street ("to search them"! I know that may not sound like much, but can you imagine the humiliation and how pissed off you would be if it was raining????

BTW this is not one of those archaic laws that the british have - it used to happen very frequently in my home town while I was growing up!!
2003-04-09 08:02:30 AM
kill a cop for mommy
2003-04-09 08:14:48 AM
For every bad cop there are a bunch more with pent-up rage just waiting to unleash on your ass.
2003-04-09 08:17:58 AM
For just civil rights violations? That sounds like he should be charged with sexual assault and kidnapping as well!
2003-04-09 08:19:32 AM
hmmm... actually not a bad idea. instead of all that paperwork of filling out a ticket, notifing insurance companies, etc... just flash some ass to a cop. let's see..
10 mph over: get nekkid
20 mph over: oral
30 mph over: bend over for that special "cavity search".
2003-04-09 08:29:17 AM
Depends on the woman...

Frank Wright, 36

I thought Frank Wright was an architecht, not a cop.
2003-04-09 08:49:05 AM
You're thinking of Art Van Dalet, Cheezalot.
2003-04-09 08:50:37 AM
For felony's yes, but traffic violations, well that's just wrong.
2003-04-09 08:51:07 AM

Actually, the average police officer isn't very bright. In fact, many municipalities tend to lean away from hiring overly intelligent officres.

Anyone remember the story about the guy with the high IQ who aced all of the tests to become a cop, but they told him he was too smart and wouldn't hire him? I think he ended up suing. Never did hear how it turned out though.
2003-04-09 09:31:33 AM
I really think offenses like this are worse when done by a cop. They have a position of authority. They have powers granted them that the rest of us don't - like the power to legally carry a gun and the power to stop people and demand their time and obedience and attention. They need this power, but I think the book should be thrown at them if they abuse it.
2003-04-09 09:32:13 AM
And .. the scary thing is, that idiot is two towns from me.
2003-04-09 09:42:59 AM

Should be like the military. When you abuse your power there, you are farked hard. No civil bull-shiat, just pure farking.

Judasdiomedes is right.

This is also one of the farking reason I hate cops. They abuse their farking power because they know they can farking get away with it. And as a woman, the thought of something like this happening to me farking scares me.

Let's face it. You don't buy genius for $25,000 a year. Most of the cops I know are cops either because they can't do anything else, get off on the power trip, or were abused in high school and are getting revenge.
2003-04-09 10:31:16 AM

Do you have any idea what cops on Long Island make?
2003-04-09 10:48:41 AM

Several women said they were driven to isolated locations, sometimes in handcuffs, after they were stopped by Wright. Some were released without being forced to disrobe.

Jesus Farking Christ sounds like they were 1 step away from being a rape victim. Glad this shiatbag is off the force.

$100,000+ in Nassau county. And I wonder why my property taxes went up $600 this year.

Sounds like he had standards even though he lacked scruples.

Do a nice cost of living comparison and get back to me. It's commensurate with other depts.

No, it isn't. Cops in most other areas get paid what most would consider an average salary for the community. Not too high, not too low. On Long Island, they get paid higher than average.

Also, they get paid higher than cops in NYC. Want to do a COL comparison with them?
2003-04-09 11:33:39 AM

Ah. Then the universal lament of cops and educators must be a myth. Cops with time on the job, i.e., supervisors, detectives, etc., may approach what you consider an average salary. Entry level grunts, like our friend the speeder intimidator, do not approach this threshold.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Regarding the NYC issue:

April 23, 2002 -- New York City cops are jumping ship for Long Island at a record pace.
A new Suffolk County Police Department class of 110 recruits was sworn in yesterday - and 54 of them, or nearly half, were former NYPD cops, officials said.
The starting salary for yesterday's Suffolk class was $45,980. In six months, when they are assigned street duty, the rookies will earn $47,980. At top scale in the department, Suffolk cops pull in $80,900.

At the NYPD, new recruits earn $31,305 in the academy, the same when they hit the street, and $54,978 at top scale.

The NYPD had 39,500 officers as of June 2001. In Suffolk, the department numbered 2,667 at the end of that year, officials said.

The NYPD declined comment.

That doesn't even account for overtime.

Enjoy this one too, which does account for overtime. Be sure to read it before commenting.

Average Suffolk Cop: $105G / 64 percent earn six figures

What's your point BigG?

Also I'm waiting for the people defending the Oakland department's use of force to come in hear and say that if you don't want to be strip searched, don't speed.
2003-04-09 12:20:40 PM
In other news, the Dodgers will not come back to win the Series.
