His lawyer said he was really behind the 8 ball on this one, but he's hoping to build some bridges with the victim's family.

In truth he'd always been meaning to bumper off, it just took him a while to find his balls.

I play pool several times a day (because I have my own table) and, well, I'd love to shove a cue up his @ss.

He's had his run, so let's chalk him up. The prosecuter has this one in his pocket.

Am I the only one who wants to know what happened after the hit in the head?

Did the guy go down hard? Walk around and get to a hospital a few hours later? Did they leave the bar together and every assumed the disorientation of the victim was alcohol induced?

My friend's brother was killed in a pool-hall fight. A guy he had words with decided to hit him in the back of the head with the pool cue. When he did that, Peter* fell on to his own cue and it went through his eye, straight into his brain.

The guy who hit him? Got 18 years.

I'm not saying that Peter deserved to die, but he was a bit of an ass and probably totally deserved to get hit.

* not his real name

Am I just reading this wrong? The victim was beaten to death because he refused a beer that had mistakenly been delivered to him, which angered the guy who ordered it? What? Also, the story indicates that after the victim was hit, he didn't just go down, but was at least lucid enough for the defense to claim he started egging on the attacker. The story mentions the first hit, and then leaves it up the reader to fill in the blanks.

/Too lazy to google for a better story
//yet not so lazy that I won't complain about it here

TnJed: Am I just reading this wrong? The victim was beaten to death because he refused a beer that had mistakenly been delivered to him, which angered the guy who ordered it? What?

And evidently the killer ordered the beer for his friend, after beating said friend in pool (which was rare). Shouldn't the friend have been buying him a beer?

Either you are closing your eyes to a situation you do not wish to acknowledge,
Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster...indicated by the presence of a pool table in your community!
