OK I laughed subby.
However, FTFA: Officials determined that the hearse was involved in a non-injury hit-and-run on the Carquinez Bridge.

I'd think this would be worthy of more than just a passing sentence in this story... Seems odd.

Next time they should ask for a non-smoking hearse.

Doyle told me I should ask for an ambulance. And a hearst. Mmmm hmm.

The driver was able to get out of the hearse and appeared to have safely removed the coffin he was transporting, Haven said. A second hearse was sent to pick up the coffin.

It's a casket - Vampires live in coffins. He could have been transporting a Vampire but probably not.

I doubt the alcohol was a factor.

I'm sure that guy always drives the hearse wasted. It's just that this time, it happened to catch on fire.

I hope the driver gets a stiff punishment

"a box or chest for burying a corpse"

Both are acceptable, however, a casket is defined as a "fancy coffin".

Your sarcasm-meter seems to be turned off this morning since you missed the part where he talks about vampires.

/Here, have a cup on me.

Uh, why would they have a casket if they were going to cremate?

So if I read this story right, the driver was pickled but his passenger was preserved?

I have worked in the funeral business for over 25 years: Here's the deal on "Coffins" and Caskets"

Coffins: Still most common in Europe (Princess Dianna was buried in a coffin.) Coffins are wide at the shoulder and narrow at the feet. American funeral directors sometimes refer to them as "Toe Pinchers".

Caskets: Used mostly in the United States, canada, New Zealand and Australia, are rectangular in shape, (Michael Jackson was buried in a casket.)

The media has no understanding of this .

So if you get burned on your way to being cremated, do they give you a discount?

With a little smokey flavor added.

You can't just carry the deceased around in a Hefty bag.

I almost spit my coffee all over the monitor reading this.
