how about begging forgiveness for becoming a conservative blowhard after spending your youth exploring the freedoms of the wild life? After you got old you came to support the same assholes who want to deny that chance to future generations.

Super Mario Brothers was a fine film with a fine cast and an internally consistent script. You're just bitter because you missed it in theatrical release.

2010-01-08 11:36:25 AM
that came off as overly harsh. I love his movies excluding that POS buddy cop flick he did with Keifer Sutherland, that was dreck.
hopefully he's not in pain.

/ps Princess Daisy was hot in SMB

/Hang in there, Hopper.

Forgiveness? Shoot, I'd look him dead in the eye and THANK him for being a part of the super mario brothers movie. I don't care what anyone says, that crappy flick entertains the hell out of me.

Because he dies, when it dies, man, when it
dies, he dies. What are they going to say about him? What, are
they going to say, he was a kind man, he was a wise man, he had
plans, he had wisdom? Bullsh-t, man! Am I going to be the one,
that's going to set them straight? Look at me: wrong!

Not to be a bummer, but he is prostate cancer, while treatable most of the time, when it wins, its a painful slow way to go.

Unless it was diagnosed WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY late, I find this hard to believe. Prostate cancer killing someone in less than 6 months is ridiculously rare.

You know, I gotta agree. That movie has it's flaws, but overall I thought it was well done. You can tell he had fun with the role.

He's done some cheese, but the great moments outweigh the bad. He really should have won an Oscar for Frank Booth, though. What a performance. Should have at least gotten a nomination for Apocalypse Now. He DID get nominated for Hoosiers, but I've never seen that film. And apparently for Easy Rider in a writing category.

It's sad that he's checking out, but he'll not soon be forgotten.

Both my uncle and a friend sought "alternative" therapies first, because they feared radiation or removal would make them less manly. So they dithered, and delayed ...

That's when Death stepped in and said: I'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE.

I did a movie with Martin Sheen years ago. He maintained that he had dialogue in that scene, but after 39 takes and never getting a word in edge wise, he just let Hopper go off.

It spread to his bones so chances are it was diagnosed way later than it should have been.

... you know, I don't think I'll ever be able to reach that point. When I get a terminal diagnosis, I'm probably going to have a panic attack so severe that my heart will kill me on the spot. I don't think I'll ever be "ready".

Then there came a sound.
Distant first, it grew into castrophany so immense it could be heard far away in space.
There were no screams. There was no time. The mountain called Monkey had spoken.
There was only fire.
And then, nothing.

/not obscure, I hope...

Depends on where you are in life and how your health had been up to that point.

Once you get old enough and all your friends are dead or dying, getting a terminal diagnosis isn't that bad.

Or once you've been in enough pain and suffering from an illness, being told it will all be over is actually a nice thing.
