It'll be better than tremors: the series!

How could they ruin music when they haven't played any for 20 years? Or is that when they ruined it?

Read that as watership down. Now thats a horror movie!

How can MTV destroy a movie made decades ago? Why do people always make this argument? If the remake/adaptation/Tv series version of your favorite woobie sucks, it doesn't actually make your favorite woobie cease to exist. You can feel free to ignore it, as any reasonable person will choose to ignore this.

Oh god no, please. Don't.

First they ruined vampires. Whatever, vampires are pretty stupid anyways but please do not ruin zombies.

god dammit... D.O.D. remake totally ignored the fact that the originals were about THE DEAD COMING BACK TO LIFE regardless of how they died.. crawling out of the grave.. and turned it into a 28 days later clone with transmission of the "disease" farking bullshiat.. I can't stand how every criticism misses that. I can buy the fast zombies as being fresh and not decomposed.. but to deny the fundamental plot of a comet over the planet bringing the dead back to life is bullshiat.. but ROmero farking sold out and started making garbage so what does it matter anyway.. I can't even watch Diary of the Dead or the shiatty Day of the Dead remake without puking..

With all the teen mom shows they're showing now I would have thought the logical choice would have been Rosemary's Baby or something.

Good god, are we in for sparkling, pedophile zombies with emo girlfriends?

But I don't pay attention to MTV anyway, so WTF.

They're also producing a "Teen Wolf" series.

Will supposedly be shot in Georgia or NC.

Movie was dead to me after the unecessary and ridiculous Snyder remake. Do what you will, at least the original is on DVD

Years ago when I worked at Blockbuster Video I had some middle aged hippie special order a copy of the Doors Live at the Hollywood Bowl video. Couple weeks later it comes in and I call her to come and pick it up. She comes rushing in later that same day and starts pontificating ad nauseum about what a genius Jim Morrison was, how he was a modern day Dionysus, how he practically invented what we know as the prototypical lead singer in modern rock and roll music...basically parroting every magazine article ever written about the man. She then told me that there would not be any of the theatricality in modern music without him. To which I replied, "Oh, guess we have him to blame" and then walked away. She was so offended that she took the opportunity to call the corporate office to complain about the disrespectful employee.

For those that complain about their precious childhood memories being raped by remakes, sequels, and adaptations...those folks are that woman. You are bordering on (or well in to) middle age and you are just as irrelevant as she was. Once you pass the age of 25, nobody is marketing to you anymore.

In the long term, they get weaker. Know why? The muscles teat and deteriorate.

atrophy : our true weapon against the zombies..

On the plus side, it would be amusing to hear the snap, crackle, and pop...of them walking. Ok, maybe more of a thud then a dragging sound..

I'll be damned. You're right. With Frank Darabont directing, writing and producing. Wooooow.

I just found an interview with the guy who wrote the comic, and is involved with writing the TV version. He said AMC's only restriction was no F-bombs. Also, he said that he felt no need to rely on gore, and so in the some ways the slight constraints of AMC was desirable.

This may kick ass. MTV's thing? Notsomuch.

I have no problem with this. The only reason I wanted HBO or Showtime was so that they would be free to curse or show as much gore as they like, neither of which are essential to the story, but would always be there if they wanted to use it. Looking forward to watching it.

This! Really, PG rated zombies? Get the fark outta here! The only way to do a decent zombie story is if you make it unrated, or British. Even the last few R-rated ones I've seen have been too tame(thank you SO much Mr Romero).

Unless its got scenes of people being pulled apart like loaves of bread at an Italian banquet, I'll pass.

AMC announced it's making a zombie tv series awhile ago based on the "Walking Dead" comic. So screw the MTV, AMC FTW.

Wasn't there already a TV show about a family living with a wretched rotting zombie; where they tried to treat him as a member of the family, despite the fact that all he did was mumble & groan, eat the flesh of the living, and amble listlessly around the house creating a menace to itself & others?

How do they think this will even work? They'd have to hold back on the gore, cut out any explicit language, tone down the violence...what's the point? MTV may be a cable channel, but it's not like Showtime or HBO...even if they play it on late-night, they'll still have to endure some sensorship. It's a complete waste of time and a detriment to the original material.

Flawed theory, have you seen zombies? The muscles are already teat and deteriorated, but yet the walk and somewhat think and eat you. If you will respond with yes they will continue to deteriorate so just wait them out, good luck on that.

This. I don't know about you, but as soon as I hit 25 I stopped buying music, going to movies or sporting events, and buying food. Then I moved to an assisted living facility where all my choices are made for me. I may not buy as much useless shiat as that demographic, but I'm making more money and spending more....I just don't need to be repeatedly told what to buy by advertising execs.

Running zombies were the only thing that bugged me about the Dawn of the Dead remake but everything else was fairly solid. That opening sequence with the bird's-eye view of sheer chaos was awesome.

So what if MTV is going to do a series? Better they choose DotD than Shaun of the Dead--they would probably be far too campy and it would completely suck. But a series about a bunch of kids stuck in a mall fighting off zombies--how bad could it possibly be? I think the worst we'll have to watch out for are the annoying kids more than what MTV will do w/the zombies.
