I like Ellen. She seems like one of the few celebrities that are genuine and humble. I also think she's pretty funny. That said, I think she's a really bad choice as American Idol judge. First of all, the 4 judge concept is ridiculous. Second, she's too nice to be a worthwhile critic. I think she's going to end up being more of a softie than Paula, which isn't a good thing.

I don't believe that the producers are tampering with the voting results. AI is the highest rated show on US television, and a scandal like this would be impossible to keep buried.

Also, if the contest were fixed, Adam Lambert would have won it last year. They award a lucrative recording contract to the winner, and the guy who won it last year really had a lot less commercial appeal than Lambert. Their album sales confirm this.

Ellen is cool. That is all.

Past AI contestants would tell you otherwise. Also it wouldn't be much of a scandal. People that watch or care about a show like this or the music it produces are either naive teenagers or adults that are comfortable being lied to by media moguls.

Well, you're cynical attitude may earn you "cool points" among fellow AI haters, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny. If you honestly believe that tampering with the public voting on the top rated show in the country wouldn't cause a scandal, you need to have your head examined. Nobody likes to be told lies. If someone were to prove that their was voter tampering going on, the show would cease to exist.

Watch the movie "Quiz Show" if you don't believe me. Not only was that show taken off the air, but all shows similar to it disappeared for a couple of decades after that scandal.
