One would think that humanity by now would realize that creating laws against something which cannot be clearly defined is, you know, a bad idea.

Ive learned that what one couple considers abuse, another can consider foreplay.

My parents are pretty vicious when they talk to one another, but Id pay your life insurance up before criticising one of them in front of the other. They've also been married more than 40 years.

This is stupid

What the hell is Vicar of Dibley? It makes me think of Andy Capp for some reason.

Here's a hint, guys. You can answer that question honestly and not get in trouble. When she asks, "does this make me look fat?" The correct answer is "No". Do not complete the statement by telling her exactly what makes her look fat. Trust me on this.

If she's tries something on that you don't like, say "that outfit isn't very flattering for you, you could look so much hotter in something more your style."

One last thing. As much as we wish it to be true, she can not get her clothes exclusively from Victoria Secrets. She needs outside clothes, too.

/but corsets ARE outside clothes!

Big in this... what? This room? This county? C'mon, need a little perspective, here.

What a couple might look like.

Oh, I've been the recipient of psychological violence. 5 1/2 years later I'm finally over the flashbacks unless stimulated, Where the Wild Things Are the movie actually was able to stimulate it due to the amount of arguing. Seriously, there's a limit, I think when she tried to convince me I was gay was the point I knew it was nothing but tripe.

Assuming they really are considering the law, that's got to be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard.

Wife nagging replaced by law nagging, complete with fines. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. Just raise taxes if you are looking to rob people some more.

I propose we create a law against it!

I'm pretty sure a woman was behind this law. And if they start to enforce it, it's only fair to make using sex for manipulation illegal, as well.

vicar of dibley was a top rated british sitcom that featured a full-figured woman in the lead role.

i could post a 'lmgtfy' link, if you prefer.

Sometimes we get the answer wrong on purpose.

"Your arse looks fine darling, but is that facial hair? I can lend you my razor if you don't mind that I last used it on my balls..."

(delivered with a seriously concerned look)

Yah, sometimes that's a not so subtle hint that this particular one knows about Drama Manafacturing Techniques and isn't going to play ball.

I only know The Young Ones from across the pond, which was fantastic. Thanks for the link offer, but I'll look for it another time. Still don't know why it made me think of Andy Capp. Maybe I just want some hot fries.

CowboyNinjaD: I'm pretty sure a woman was behind this law.

I doubt it. Women are much more adept at emotional abuse than men. Men generally go for the physical type. Personally I think it's only fair that both forms of abuse are illegal. Men have to give up their physical advantage. It's time for women to fight fair.

It's a sign you're really out of touch with reality and social relationships when you think you can simply legislate happiness and expect it to oh hey the slide show in the corner has a picture of girls having a snowball fight in swimsuits(slide 8).

Can you honestly imagine a man claiming that his wife is psychologically abusing him? This bullshiat is for women who feel like their husbands are abusing them, even though they can't really point to any instance where their husbands actually hit them.

Hen-pecked husbands are not going to be the ones primarily taking advantage of this law.

Digitalstrange: Ive learned that what one couple considers abuse, another can consider foreplay.

Excellent point.

Having to beg for a little 'action' could be considered totally demeaning, and not worth swallowing your pride.

Then I discovered that seeing me swallow me pride meant she would swallow as well...

How can something this subjective, and which relies to such a large extent on what is going on in the mind of the "perpetrator" and the "victim", possibly be legislated in an accurate and meaningful way? Even personally witnessing the entire series of incidents/arguments wouldn't give enough of the story.

Guys who get nagged are typically fat lazy douchebags who can't be bothered removing their asses from in front of the TV.

For the 1% of men who are nagged and aren't that guy - well, you probably married on the basis of your wife actually farking you in the first place. Sucks to be you

/doesn't get nagged

I would never physically abuse another person, emotional and mental scars last longer. ;)

I have dated throwers and punchers in the past, punchers are the easiest to deal with. With them you either get in so close they can't get a good swing, or far enough away that they can't make contact. With the throwers, just get out of range quick, they will pick up anything, rocks, knives, frozen food....
Run rabbit, run...
