Well it's true. Fat is high in calories, which you'd need after a multi-century trip in cryo, fat people are easier to catch, and eating fatties is less likely to affect the breeding population, ensuring the food supply remains stable.

This doesn't make sense. I grew up on a ranch with cattle and pigs and those who were the most healthy and fit were the ones I looked forward to eating. Muscular, but trim.

I don't enjoy eating lard.
