What? Sheriff Arpaio is a self-centered, childish cock-wad? I'm shocked!

Best pizza ever - anchovies, black olives, garlic, and onions.

I call it the "stinkbug" and order it from Lou Malnati's any time the wife is away.

He might hate anchovies, but I bet there's someone in his office who doesn't. If it was me, I'd goad him into writing articles about Arpaio so I wouldn't have to go out for lunch.

Little does Sheriff Pettyswipe realize that the journalist actually loves anchovies and his been chowing down the rewards of his guile for years.

I love anchovies, red onion, garlic puree, and capricola on my Pronta'za pizza. Best delivery in downtown if you like New York style. Oh and after visiting a buddy in Az. a couple years back I would have to say that Little Joe is a tin pot fascist dickhead.

I would love to see some negative articles about illegal aliens. Gosh, I wonder what the reporter would receive from the drug cartels, gangs, businessmen and others who make so much money off of illegals and love to trash Arpiao.

There was the time the New Eme was going to murder the Arizona Attorney General who was sitting a few booths down in a restaurant. The reporter would probably get something like that for negative articles about illegals.

I am another one who loves anchovies on pizza. I like double anchovies, green peppers, black olives and ham.

I like to order anchovies when there is a big order of pizzas to make sure that I will have a slice after everyone else devours the rest.

I wonder if Slices is still in Tempe. I loved that place during undergrad.

...holy fark, according to their website they now have 4 locations, and now it's "New York Style",not "Boston Style" pizza.

Still there and still massive pieces of pizza. They closed down greasy tony's though. That place was the best and even made decent cheesesteaks.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with that article, as a majority of the seven hundred odd reviewers have done. Artsy fartsy pizza joints are a dime a dozen. The best pizza places are small family owned holes in the wall in random non-touristy neighborhoods in NYC, Chicago, Philly and a handful of other towns. But that's my taste in pizza.

I live in Boston, and I have no clue what "Boston style" pizza is. Most of the pizza I've had here was in hole-in-the-wall places staffed by heavily-accented Italian types. Maybe with baked beans on top?

If I were the columnist I would write an unrelated article mentioning how much I hate filet mignon or lobster. Say it gives you hives. Especially with a baked potato and melted butter...

I think it's only because the family is from Boston that they can actually get away with it. I'm just waiting for the Minnesota style pizza made with lefse and lutefisk to show up one of these days.

I'm a big fan of anchovies and garlic. Used to order "death pie" at CIGNA years ago - cheese pizza with a triple order of fresh garlic. Stinky pizza is practically a sacrament.

2010-01-06 03:37:11 PM
And the lesson we learn from this story is, next time you place your order, don't forget to say, "No anchovies please."

Also, we learn I'm old.

Absolutely no argument there. California Pizza Kitchen can keep their friggin' reindeer goat cheese pizza - give me a nice brick oven pie with criped onions and enough cheese to keep Wisconsin in business, and I'll be grateful.

I've yet to find a truly great, simple pizza here in the Seattle area. Either it's "greasy gobs of half-cooked dough topped with Ragu" or "six different endangered species, lightly killed, topped with only the finest imported mozzarella, rolled between the thighs of poor Italian virgins" here.
