None. He was too sick to be out there arresting people. Duh.

Meh, guy committed suicide. If he was still alive it would be one thing, but it's over, move on.

Yeah, pretty much this. His disease was terminal either way.

Killed himself, that's probably enough punishment.

You can't mention it! He gave me a parking space.

He was certainly sick of something. If he hadn't committed suicide I would have dumped all over him but he punished himself all out of proportion to this crime.

Egalitarian Killed himself, that's probably enough punishment.

Suicide isn't punishment. It's an escape.

Suicide is painless.

I have to agree with investigators. It's not like this guy set up fake fundraisers for himself. Apparently the money was raised without his asking for it. He didn't defraud anybody.

Plus, he's dead.

Let it go.

Sheesh... I, on the other hand, am honestly struggling with paying bills and dealing with stage 4 breast cancer (completely verifiable) - but I have gone waaaaaaaay past the point of begging for money on the net anymore because crying about my situation for financial help just feels... aiiiggggghhh... just really, really humiliating.

On the other hand, If anyone knows any Babylon 5 fans who like classy pins to wear, I've got something nice they might want. (Email me about it if you want)

Having at least SOMEthing positive to offer - even if it ain't much - feels so much better than stooping to begging. :)

/definitely NOT subby

So he claimed he had cancer but didn't ask for any money or anything. Then he committed suicide. It sounds to me less like the fake cancer was a ploy for money, and more like it was a desperate cry for attention.

Subby, if you really do have it, out yourself and we'll see about donations.

If you don't, not funny - I have a friend battling it now. If I lose her, I'm coming for you.

I once found a nice song (techno? Rave? It had a nice beat) by someone, no big name, that used audio from that episode. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

We had a superintendent at my work do something sort of similar. He started complaining of stomach pains. Then he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We were all very worried. A short time later he had surgery and the doctor opened him up, had a look, sewed him back up, gave him some meds and sent him home to die. He had a few weeks left if any. We were very sad. So he got his final check and he and his wife took a trip.

A year later someone from the IRS called our home office looking for him. Our HR lady explained he had died the previous year. The IRS person was confused. We were all puzzled. The very next day he called the home office out of the blue as if it were no big deal and asked for a copy of his W2! We were all wtf?

Cytokine Storm

i dunno what that is but it will give me nightmares.

And for such a short article it was hard to understand. He collected $20,000 for a cancer he didn't have, but they found no evidence of him doing anything to get the money?
