I'm sure his biatchy daughter was somehow involved. Better indict her also just to be sure.

I wonder how popular she is with her schoolchums now. It must be a bit embarrassing when the repo man takes away your birthday presents.

"Though he faces criminal charges, Milby probably won't be arrested, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Ty Howard. Instead, Milby will be summoned to appear in court, a process that Howard said is common in white-collar crime cases."

"...instead in a couple of cases wiring $100,000 to an offshore account in the Turks & Caicos Islands..."

I wonder how long it will be before we hear the prosecutors whining and acting shocked when he flees the country and disappears.

Though he faces criminal charges, Milby probably won't be arrested, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Ty Howard. Instead, Milby will be summoned to appear in court, a process that Howard said is common in white-collar crime cases.

Ah, yes. Our wonderfully fair justice system.

Yep...de-fraud people of millions of dollars...no arrest, white collar crime, etc.

Have a half pound of weed in your car...arrested on the spot, get thrown in a PMITA prison within hours, etc.

Not fair...not fair at all...

Nah, there will just be an 'incompetent' prosecutor who 'bungles' the case.

FTFA: Cameras followed Milby to his Kentucky oil fields, where his daughter, Ariel, exclaimed at the time: "I love oil. Oil means shoes and cars and purses."

Not normally a fan of the term "crotchfruit," but it's far too kind here.

Oh, I dated a girl back in college whose brother got married to the daughter of an old-school Texas real estate developer. High church wedding, thirty-foot train, all the bubbly you could drink. Declared bankruptcy the next week.

My question is, why are these investors watching this show on MTV?

Oh, they're creepy old guys. Completely forgot. My bad. Sorry guys.

Dammit Fark, first that chronicnle.com story about how you'll never get an academic job that ran in 2003. Now this.

You do this ONE MORE TIME, and I'm shorting GM for all that I'm worth.

Meanwhile, a black teenager suspected of slinging a couple of rocks of crack on the streets of Knoxville can likely expect to rot in jail for months before getting into court.

So much for a post-racial society.

Is that show still on MTV? I usually just laugh at the famous-for-being-asses types they put on that channel, but that show actually made me we want to slap people around. What a horrible show.

Yes, because the exact same thing wouldn't happen to a white person in the same circumstances? Not all drug dealers are black, you know.

Which one is more likely to shoot you in the face during a carjacking?

Those who decry the fact that blacks are "disproportionately' represented in the prison system, etc, blanch and stick their fingers in their ears if someone points out that their rate of incarceration is directly proportionate with the amount of crimes they commit and is not, in fact, due to the boogeyman specter of "racism."

Apples and oranges.

But nice troll though.

Which one is more likely to flee the country?

That's the point of bail, bub.

Well if you look at history say....the last 400 years, this same shiat isn't limited to whitey and blackey. I doubt it will ever really end either.

Let's take race out of the equation. If someone steals a t-shirt from the mall, they'll be taking a ride to the lock up until someone can spring them.

This guy steals hundreds of thousands and the police weren't even looking for him.

Possibly. I won't go down that hypothetical road. But if you think socioeconomics is the only factor influencing these kind of decisions in the criminal justice system, you haven't been paying attention.

I don't know, if I was a guy with a nice chunk of cash stashed offshore, 55 years old, I'd have to think seriously about finding a nice beachfront in Mexico to settle down.

At the same time, he's got a family I am sure he doesn't want to leave behind. I guess it depends on how much time he's looking at.

I wonder if the D.A. demanded he surrender his passport? TFA doesn't say.

He'll have to stand before a judge, he just won't have to be taken to the station and courthouse in cuffs.

Hope he gets the max, and his daughter's toys taken away as proceeds from illegal activity.
