I don't even want to think about how those to viruses came together.

So does this mean when you go down on Asian chicks, don't inhale?????

That is not what the article said at all.

"In the United States, none of the SARS cases so far seems to show evidence of chlamydia."

SARS seems to be working in conjunction with the chlamydia virus in many cases but not all.

In part two of the earlier "Man has sex with dog" article, we now present:

WHO investigators have only recently been granted access to the region, which has a history of unusual viral outbreaks that can be traced back to animals.

Setinotathome, I attribute that to the sweet & sour "pork".

Chlamydia? I think I dated her sister...

2003-04-04 06:23:28 PM
I thought Chlamydia was a bacteria and SARS was a virus...

2003-04-04 06:23:30 PM
It's been known for a long time that there's a pneumonia-causing type of chlamydia that has nothing to do with the sexually-transmitted variant.

Chlamydia: It sounds like a pretty stage hand for Penn and Cillan.

Seems someone coughed into a lil muff to me.

Oh good grief, just a secondary infection. If you want to stay healthy, it's best to stay out of the hospital.

2003-04-04 06:35:01 PM
the clamidia is so thick in the air, you could cut it with a knife.

2003-04-04 06:36:41 PM
Maybe you should read the article a little closer. It says that US officials think the link is unlikely because chlamydial pneumonia is fairly common in those countries.

Those fake 'breathilizer' tests on the drunk girls don't seem like such a good idea now...

Sometimes, you will find bacteria infected with bacteriophages, a virus infecting a bacterium. It's actually a way that drug-resistance can be transmitted. Maybe, in this case, the bacteria acted has as a vector of some sort.

The Chinese should stop spitting in public and cover their mouths when they sneeze and cough. This is one of the reasons colds/viruses spead so fast in densely populated areas, like Hong Kong, Guangdong, and New York City!

Good hygiene is not enforced enough in China.

I am just trying to wrap my mind around the idea of Chlamydial pneumonia... how the hell do you catch that... and they must have some really weird kinks over there in Asia.

the chaos of the univers is hurting my mind

2003-04-04 06:45:39 PM
Mantour that is a pretty scary idea that a Bacteriophage would be able to jump from a bacteria to cause a disease in a human being.

2003-04-04 06:45:44 PM
That's just a stupid headline. Chlamydia is a known bacterium that's been associated with the SARS cases in China. SARS is assumed to be caused by a virus, but they don't really know what the cause is yet.

2003-04-04 06:48:44 PM
in other news... ebola is a form of crab...

2003-04-04 06:49:08 PM
Ah, there goes that sexual tour of Asia I've been planning...

2003-04-04 06:52:11 PM
There is no connection between the SARS virus and the chlamydia bacteria other than people having both, if you will just read the article.

A lot of people with AIDS get TB. That doesn't mean they are related, it's just a secondary infection. They aren't related.

Chlamydia was the ancient greek goddess of home improvement loans. She sprang fully formed from the elbow of the god PSATNMSQT. One day, while reviewing paperwork on the inventory of nectar and ambrosia, she was set upon by a swarm of enraged hornets. Little did she know that this was actually the Olypian Lacross team, who had turned themselves into hornets to vex Chlamydia, at the behest of her arch-nemesis Fanny-Mae, who coveted Chlamydia's accumulated equity.

2003-04-04 07:04:35 PM
Wow. Horribly misleading headline, and poorly written article. SARS is caused by a coronavirus. Apparently it's sometimes found in people with chlamidya and sometimes it's not. This shouldn't even be in the news. Stupid stupid stupid.

2003-04-04 07:09:09 PM
The phenomenom is called transduction. In fact, any piece of DNA, usually from plasmid (autonomous form of DNA separate from the chromosome), can be transmitted to another bacteria from the same or even different species via a virus. Just imagine if the plamid contained a sequence to protect from an antibiotic. B

And today's inappropriate theme song for a serious topic is...

"Make It Clap" by Sean Paul and Busta Rhymes

2003-04-04 07:15:44 PM
But no. Rest assured Code_Archeologist, they don't go from bacteria to human cells but they can go from bacteria to bacteria. ;)

2003-04-04 07:16:09 PM
Just what we need - more FUD. Things are getting nuts here in Silicon Valley, where we have a bunch of cases. People are just in panic mode for no reason.

2003-04-04 07:16:24 PM
Speaking of chlamidya.....
Anyone remember or know that song by K7 (the same group that brought us Come Baby Come) called 'Move It Like This'? There is a part that goes, Lydia oh Lydia, why did I have to get rid of ya.....
For whatever reason, since the first time I heard the song I always sing, Lydia oh Lydia, why did you give me chlamidya...

/random thought, late in the day, sorry, I'm going home now

I don't know if this is on topic exactly, but I'm watching CNN right now, and I wish Paula Zahn would die a thousand deaths. I can't stand her overanimated completely biased take on the news. It makes me sick! Zahn means tooth in german, btw. Well, I thing she is a disgusting person. I can remember when she did the 911 stuff, and she kept on farking smiling like she always does. What kind of a sick fark smiles at shiat like that?

Science nazi, huh? Did you ever meet Dr. Josef Mengele? I hear people didn't like him very much.

Quadraton,
If you like metal, listen to Slayer's "Angel Of Death". It is all about Josef Mengele's expiraments.. awesome song but very disturbing.

SARS is a lot like the Lambada. Just a lot of hype.
