"We're sorry for all of this pain,
From all of those people we've slain.
But help's on the way
For those who obey:
Free tickets to ride on a train!"

Also on Wednesday, Iranian state media said authorities have made progress in an investigation into the death of Mr. Mousavi's nephew, who authorities now say was run over by a vehicle in what they describe as an assassination attempt.

An official, quoted by Press TV, the state-backed English language outlet, said authorities had located and arrested the owner of the car believed to have killed Seyyed Ali Mousavi.

Iranian government offers free metro tickets to anybody who will come out and not protest them ..

taking a page from Obama administration, Ahmadinejad was quoted:

"seems the sheep in America are easily satisfied. Our brother provided them free health care and they will not rise against the tyrants of the banking industry now. We shall provide our brothers free metro tickets and they shan't rise against us.."

The official death toll from Sunday's clashes stands at eight, though opposition Web sites have recorded much higher numbers, with one site documenting more than 30. Iranian security forces have denied they were involved in any of those killings but have said the deaths are under investigation.

We are investigating the unfortunate incidents of opposition mobs turning on one another and beating themselves in motorcycle drivebys.

Iranian clerics are calling for the execution of those opposing the current regime as "enemies of Allah." (new window)
I wish someone would explain to him that Islam is the Religion of Peace and that he has completely misunderstood the Koran.

It seems that protests aren't working, and the Iranian people need to step it up a notch.

Or maybe the protests are working, we just can't see a difference yet.

give me doughnuts: I wish someone would explain to him that Islam is the Religion of Peace and that he has completely misunderstood the Koran.

I watched this documentary on Netflix, and it leads me to believe Islam is only a religion of peace when it has succeed in it's goal of global religious and political hegemony---by the sword. That is, Jihadists are true followers of Muhammad, and those who claim Islam is a religion of "peace" are either lying or misinformed.

I hope all the Big Shots in Iran remember all their bright ideas as they are swinging in the breeze by the neck.

Because I've seen all the videos on Liveleak. Those people are Farking pissed off. If this doesn't end in French Revolution style executions I will be very surprised.

Then it will be Shi'ite vs. Sunni.

Actually this is the scariest part. All of the people in power know that they won't have anywhere to run, and that the gallows will be their ultimate end game, so they will do EVERYTHING in their power to keep ruling. Hell, everyone's favorite crazy Mullah, Mesbah-Yazdi said that if we have to kill so many people that we're only left with 1 million devoted followers, then so be it. And this guy is the "spiritual guide" of Ahmadinejad.

He is a terrible person. I think you're pointing to the one key difference between the Shah and this regime. The Shah had a lot of friends in high places around the world. These guys have almost nobody. Any country that takes them will suffer poor relations with a new Iran just like we have for the past 30 years. They really have nowhere to go.
