I can see it now.

Sharply dressed man: "Can you please let my giraffe friend here aboard the plane? I know he doesn't have a passport but we do this all the time."

*Breaking News*: "This just in, passengers foiled terrorist plot of a giraffe aboard a transatlantic flight! Passengers became suspicious when the giraffe's crotch caught on fire."

Some hysterical lady passenger: "I heard a loud pop and knew it was the giraffe because giraffe's crotches aren't usually on fire"

/too soon? No disrespect just thought it was funny

No problem... once they get too big, just get a large bag, some heavy rocks, and find a very, very deep lake...

When will the back half of it be born and/or why did they embed it in a cinder-block wall?

Unlike a lot of other wild animals, giraffes will breed fairly easily in captivity.

FTFA:
The giraffes grow to an average height of 14-19 feet, weighing 1,750 to 2,800 pounds. They are herbivores with 18-inch tongues. The mother gives birth standing up, and the fall of five or six feet helps the calf take its first breath. It stands within one hour after birth.

Oh hell yeah.

My daughter was a zookeeper at Niabi until last year and she cared for the adult giraffes. They are very cool! The display has a feeding area and I had the thrill of actually feeding the momma giraffe shown in the picture. They like to eat tree branches. Up close and at eye level with a giraffe is just a gas!

Wouldn't want one as a pet, though. You should see the giraffe land mines these things produce.

/ Galesburg represents!

My brother works at the Zoo and he told me that they had no idea that the Giraffe was even pregnant.
