Why is Fox reporting on something from the UK? If I'm not mistaken, the story mentions Surrey, Richmond, and London, and the story was picked up by the Sun. Unless there's a London, BC, or all three cities also exist near each other in America...

TfL blamed the incident on a camera fault, which had now been fixed.

It's a known issue with those cameras, pointing towards women's bedrooms.

"This camera was not intentionally facing in this direction and was not set that way by a member of staff."

He said the incident was being investigated.

Why investigate it if you seem to be so certain already?

This is the part of the article that got me:

"TfL blamed the incident on a camera fault, which had now been fixed."

Unless that camera's a PTZ-type camera {pan-tilt-zoom} this line is a crock of crap. A fault with the mounting for it, maybe... but not the camera itself.

The camera should be installed so that it cannot focus on anything but the roadway. If that it not possible, remove the camera. The public has a right to privacy in their residence.

Airfoilsguy: Hey jackass, ever hear of drapes?

If the window is positioned so nobody can see in there's no need for drapes.

NeedleGuy: In the one picture of her and the camera outside, there are a bunch of trees to the left of the window (new window)...

I think it's a trick of the angles. Considering the three pictures:

The big one with her in it: I suspect photoshop here (a camera image pasted in), or else it's shot at a different location. To compose it with the real shot would require shooting with the camera down low (you can see this to some extent in the picture but I don't think there is enough distortion) and it would require a *VERY* tall tree off the left side of picture #2.

The picture inset in it: If shot #1 is real the trees in question are off the left edge.

The small picture down in the article: In this case the camera's line of view is coming in just above the tree we see in front of the house in shot #2.

I don't want to blame the victim here, but there are such things as curtains and window blinds.

I remember news stories here on fark about a guy who was prosecuted as a sex-offender for walking around naked where kids could see him... inside his on home, visible through a window after first climbing a fence and trespassing on his yard.

From the article it is not clear whether the bedroom window is the only thing visible from the camera's picture or if it is visible along with more relevant details such as roads and cars. There is also the possibility that some punk adjusted the camera after it was correctly installed possibly with the help of a thrown stone.

A radio station in Omaha had a traffic reporter who would sit outside of Mutual of Omaha on nice days to watch the attractive women and do a traffic report.

He was supposed to be driving around the city.

Yikes! I didn't see that one. I've never cared about being nude where it would require an observer in the back yard to see me.

From the article it is not clear whether the bedroom window is the only thing visible from the camera's picture or if it is visible along with more relevant details such as roads and cars. There is also the possibility that some punk adjusted the camera after it was correctly installed possibly with the help of a thrown stone.

I'm sure it was adjusted, but look at the situation--it would be pretty hard to do with a thrown stone. Either someone commanded it to point there or someone did it from up the pole.
