If this isn't unity, I don't know what is.
2001-09-21 08:17:56 PM
Maybe they could offer to take care of a little problem known as Laden.

No matter what, Italians are farking cool.
2001-09-21 08:21:40 PM
I bet these things have shredded a lot more than steel.

Shuduppa your face!

He admitted using extortion and arson in trying to take over a rival scrap yard run by undercover cops.

It's this kind of public interference in the private sector that is skewing the economy and mocks the principles of free enterprise upon which America was built.

You know something's up when New York organized crime is fighting against terrorism. I feel sorry for any would-be terrorists.
2001-09-21 08:41:59 PM
"but boss, I tought we waz comin to get da ziti?!?"

"ziti?!? fuggetaboutit!"
2001-09-21 08:43:13 PM
I guess there's limits even for criminals. Even a hardened mobster doesn't kill innocents.
2001-09-21 08:47:32 PM
red stains in the shredder? Hmm must be all that iron . . .yeahhh yeahhh that's the ticket..
2001-09-21 08:49:13 PM
The real question here... why are undercover cops running a scrap iron business?
2001-09-21 09:08:49 PM
Farkin' rad.
2001-09-21 09:25:31 PM
In the spirit of unity, I wonder if my bookie would consider a debt forgivness program.
2001-09-21 09:31:51 PM
They're pissed because Bin Laden didn't use Union terrorists.
2001-09-21 09:38:48 PM

That picture up there looks like my family reunion. No wonder people think my family ( the Orlando/Giaccolonis) are in the mafia.

Shaddupa you face.
2001-09-21 09:51:10 PM

-sometimes I question my morality-
2001-09-21 10:12:05 PM
although, a quick grep of the news says it wouldn't be THAT surprising, Citgo appears to have a history of explosions at chemical factories...
2001-09-21 10:13:51 PM
Nuckin, please cut out all that empty space before your sig, dammit.
2001-09-21 10:21:04 PM
Keep us informed, Futz.

(NOW bin Laden is scared.)
2001-09-21 10:22:58 PM
Ok "Ishidan". But the Local news just said it was a petroleum explosion .So far there are not any health risking
chemicals in the air.

-sometimes I question my morality-
2001-09-21 10:30:37 PM
Nucking: thanks for fixing that space problem.

Ah, that would be why the national newsnets aren't picking up on it then. I believe you now, although when you first said it I thought you meant it was some extreme, catastrophic blast.
2001-09-21 10:57:07 PM
Yeah it would take a while for the national media to pick it up.But it is creepy; this city is one of the top 15 industrial cities in the nation and in the top 5 to be nuked
in time of a major war because there is all the chemical plants; an air base and a major port here that gets alot of oil from the oil rigs out in the Gulf of Mexico. but i doubt that it is a terroist attack because I've heard that there was a test being run tonight from someone that works there but I'm not sure if he was telling the truth or not. And there was just another explosion just now;the fire is way out of control.

-sometimes I question my morality-
2001-09-21 11:02:09 PM mean you can SEE the fire from where you are now?

Or does the local news media have a live feed running?

(generally, "test" that becomes "out of control" equals, well "out of control"!)
2001-09-21 11:03:09 PM
No health risking chemicals in the air?

C'mon you're in Lake Charles. There's ALWAYS chemicals in the air there.
2001-09-21 11:10:45 PM
Time to go fill up the gas tank.
2001-09-21 11:17:07 PM
Yes there are always chemicals in the air but not enough to make you ill unless you live right next to the plants. "Ishidan" I can just see it and can hear it big time
I live about 5miles away; and the whole city shook when it blew up. And i get alot of information from a friend that has a more clear view than i have and a tv in the room next to me.

-sometimes I question my morality-
2001-09-21 11:25:44 PM
Wow, well keep us informed but stay safe, eh.
2001-09-21 11:27:51 PM
Nuckin, are these people as stupid as they look?

here is a link to the breaking Citgo fire story.
2001-09-21 11:32:03 PM
(I thought you meant a gas station, not a plant, when you first wrote that)
2001-09-21 11:41:51 PM
Thanks Stebain, much appreciated
2001-09-21 11:42:22 PM
I am NOT going to sleep very well tonight. What fun it is going to be looking at the ceiling trying to fall a sleep listning to the flames roaring! but the noise is going down a little. But now that I know where the fire is I'd say I am
about 6-8 miles away. There are chemical plants up and down the river almost as far as the eye can see where all the plants are located.

-sometimes I question my morality-
2001-09-21 11:48:59 PM
Stebain I would not know I don't listen to the raidio because of all the crap that music has been lately. And thanx for the link =).

-sometimes I question my morality-

2001-09-22 12:00:44 AM
Hey, if you send a thief to catch a thief, why not send scum to take out scum? Put a contract out on Asshola Ben Dover, youse guyzz!!
2001-09-22 12:08:09 AM
One report I heard said bin Laden had gotten a lot of his custom encrypted communications equipment from the Russian mafia.
Might make and interesting battle. US mafia vs Russian mafia. A kind of cold war battle of the mafias.
2001-09-22 12:16:46 AM
Anyone else using this post as a reason to fondly think of Tony Soprano's daughter's Boobies?
2001-09-22 12:24:00 AM
Pipesnake: can we also hire out the Yakuza?
2001-09-22 12:28:37 AM
Ishidan: Did they show that Simpsons there too?
2001-09-22 12:59:23 AM
And if i can correct something I said earlier; I live about
4 miles from the plant. After I had something to eat and calm down abit I realized that I put 6-8 miles away; that would be the distance to drive there.

2001-09-22 01:19:59 AM
Anyone else find it ironic that there's a Citgo ad on the KYKZ article regarding this fire? (at least there was when I clicked it).
2001-09-22 01:21:11 AM
Er, correction - the kpcltv article.
