Nice of the cab driver to do that.

On the other hand why is the blood supply in the UK dependent on taxicabs?

What if it was a liver transplant? The Royal Mail?

What about "finally, a taxi driver that didn't end up in blood being spilled"

So I gotta tell ya, I worked in the UK in the medical system, and for one thing, it's illegal to mail biological products via the Royal Mail. You have to ship them vis their equivalent of parcel post, DHL, whatever, with biological hazard markers. Or send them by taxi, particularly something perishable. That's legal, as long as it's marked.

But the real reason is this, by Royal Mail or other shipping, it'll never, ever get there. And they don't give a rat's ass if it doesn't. Taxi is the only way.

/yea, I know, cool story

I don't think we ship them via the Post Office here either. We don't use taxis, but I know a lot of places use medical couriers and I bet they ain't cheap...

Things like that were covered by the NHS, and took f*o*r*e*v*e*r and 50 lbs of paperwork to get it there, so everyone delivering blood used taxis. But definite kudos to this guy-British roads in a snowstorm is definitely risking your life.

/like the NHS for most things

for those that did not read the article:

a Moooslim cabbie

had to drive blood to cancer patients because socialized death panels have not found a financial reason to provide good transportation.

because global warming is BS he had to drive through a snowstorm of biblical proportions.

he walked the last 4 miles to get the life saving platelets just in time for Christmas

he did it cuz he knew people needed it.

Now that damn song is stuck in my head...

When trying to express oneself, it's frankly quite absurd,
To leaf through lengthy lexicons to find the perfect word.
A little spontaniaty keeps conversation keen,
You need to find a way to say, precisely what you mean...

Because no one has coverage denied for financial concerns in America! Also, did you seriously just claim that a major snowstorm in Canada disproves global warming?

What a sad, empty, stupid life you must lead.

Funny, I don't remember snow storms in the Bible. Must be in the NEW New Testament...right next to where we're told to give a crap about what you say.

I notice there's no alternate suggestions of solutions coming from your direction, just like the rest of those "they're going to kill Grandma" Repubs.

So just continue to sit on your butt and biatch, complain, blame, etc, and continue to be totally worthless and not part of any solution to any problem.

When we need someone to be a total PITA whiner, we'll give ya a call....

It's not Republicans job to have alternatives. It's only their job to complain about how much the Democrats' suggestions are going to cost, how they're doomed to failure, to vote them down, and to let the old, rotten system continue to deteriorate while they complain some more...about how things used to work just fine before FDR screwed everything up.

Was a cabbie in Australia for about 2 years... We did medical deliveries but only out of hours and on holidays when the medical couriers were off duty... I guess it's just way more feasable to use cabs out of hours than to have 24 hour medical couriers.

The stuff usually gets there anyway!

Sad thing is that this guy is probably not going to get a cent for doing such an awesome job....
