I knew Homer was a drunk and had questionable moral values, but I didn't know he was a pedophile.

I'm not really surprised. There was an article back when the show was fairly new where churches were saying the show was a good thing. Mostly cause it showed them actually going to church every Sunday as a family, and deep down has a good model of a family.

At least that's what I recall. No idea where I read it, it was so long ago.
