According to police on the scene, the man had five hostages and five pounds of C-4, a common plastic explosive, strapped to his wheelchair.

5 hostages strapped to his wheelchair, this sounds bad.

I thought things like that were usually reserved for you know, the color red.

Why didn't someone sneak up behind him and just lock the breaks on his wheels? Call it 'damage control'.

No joke i be this guy is like everyone else in the fact that every time he goes in there only 1 person out of the 5-6 stalls are open, the line is at the door, and no one else is even trying to help speed the line up.

well just move him to the head of the line so he can mail his freakin' cards already

Obviously we need legislation banning wheel chairs. This entire situation wouldn't be happening if we were already using background checks on people before they got their wheel chairs....

On a serious note, how did he get his hands on C-4? That stuff isn't exactly laying around the shelves at 7-11, and it isn't very safe to try to make at home.

Greeeeat. Right after that TSA document is leaked saying they don't need to check wheelchairs.

C4 by itself is not explosive. It would burn like Sterno. It needs to be encased to be explosive.

I used to take apart claymore mines in Vietnam and use the C4 to heat food.

He will probably do less time if they nail him with kidnapping/hostage taking than if they try to say he wanted to rob the post office. That is like a 25 year sentence. Do it in a 7-Eleven and you would be out in less than 5.

A Red Alert usually means Fire
Orange typically refers to mass casualties
and Green (at least my hospital) means Chemical Spill / MAZMAT
