FTFA:"Only five floors have been built so far."

No wonder americans are losing the war on terror, it takes you people almost 9 years to build 5 floors. its not like there was lack of funding , or lack of labor, or lack of political will.. just pure utter laziness. now you sit and watch as your freedoms are further taken away by Obamacare and his czars. ...

I'm glad Subway is there because it's really hard to find a good deli sandwich in Manhattan.

Don't get me started on the lack of pizza places. Or good Chinese takeout!

Do you need security clearance to order a steak bomb?

2009-12-23 05:07:48 PM
oh yeah, Subway World Trade Center sounds great to me.

Much like the A/C/E line, the sandwich shop will decide, "this weekend, the toppings on your sub are only going as far as 8.5 inches. Expect to make alternate arrangements for the remainder of bread."

How American, in the city home to the greatest deli's in the world, Subay is the first business in the freedom tower.

Wow I would be terrified to work in a giant building called "Freedom Tower." It seems like it symbolizes a big middle finger pointing at all terrorists. Might as well just shape it like a bullseye.

No, but it's tough to find one with the extra capital to lay out on an arrangement like this, or one which would benefit as much from the publicity.

I find this highly offensive. Everyone knows that Jimmy Johns is vastly superior to Subway. Not to say that there are surely hundreds of delis in Manhattan which can make a better sandwich than either.

It won't be called freedom tower for long. Like the sears tower it will be renamed soon enough to the Carl's Junior tower

The terrorists don't need to kill us. We'll do it ourselves with Genoa salami, pepperoni, and ham.

I wish we'd fixed the design flaws in the original towers, then rebuilt them right back on their old footprints.

Put a couple percent inconel in the steel next time. Maybe some concrete around the center core...

/oh whatever. FREEDOM TOWER! Hey man, turn it up!

In a city where you can a heap load of meat on your sammitch that doesn't taste like plastic? Or 1$ pizza slices that rock? Subway sucks, but they is gonna make alota money all the same.

9 years to get a sub shop going, still no new towers, economy farked, endless government infringements on personal liberties, 2 wars still going, and oh, yeah, still no Bin Laden.

The terrorists won that day. Make no mistake.

I'm not trolling. I think it's monumentally depressing but true.

Meh, it's a Subway. We'll call it a wash

2009-12-23 05:20:50 PM
I think it rocks -- someone had a great idea and they're doing their part to see the tower be build. American ingenuity. And since they serve pork products, it also gives them some measure of protection as well.

Richard Schragger, who owns the Freedom Tower franchise, said he'll also offer extras no other Subway has: hot dogs, hamburgers and New York's famed pretzels.

Oh really? The Subway inside the Walmart here sells hot dogs and soft pretzels too.

The whole way they are handling this is just a shame. How amazing would it have been if they subsidized the best Jewish delicatessen in NYC to open another shop there?

Why do you think it's taken 9 years to build 5 floors? A bullseye isn't an easy shape to engineer, by friend.

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't go with the Great Satan Tower. Each floor could be themed with another thing that offends Al Queda and their ilk. Employees could have business cards declaring their office is #1 Bacon suite, meet for lunch at the Rushdie atrium or a conference in the Burger King hall. It could easily have hundreds of floors.
