I went to Taronga Zoo when I was a kid and they had these red panda things there that just look like big ginger racoons. I found out later, they're nothing like regular pandas. They also had pygmy hippopotamuses there, and they had performing seals. The seals were cool. They were sleek and black and played with beachballs and stuff. This one time I was hiking around Kaikoura though I was paying more attention to my camera than where I was actually going and I freaking walked into the middle of a bunch of sleeping seals and they were very unhappy I was there. They smelled like egg farts and they were loud and obnoxious. Seriously--they just lay around in their own noxious piss all day and then get all irritated if you interrupt their afternoon nap. I bet pandas are like that too. All cute and cuddly on tv, but if you had one for a pet it would shiat on your rug and the smell would make you never want to eat Chinese food again.

From the comments:
We really need to do something about the decreasing Panda population, breeding them for blankets might help.

My Siamese kitty will do this, sometimes while at a full run in the middle of the hallway. He does it with such force sometimes that I worry that he'll give himself a concussion.

Thanks, TIL, makes me feel much better knowing I wasn't the only one *face palming* to that. Hurt my head.

(And Merry Christmas to you and yours; I hope you get to spend some time with your son this holiday! Thanks for being a great 'friend' and making me feel so welcome here on Fark!)

I have must have in the negative because I spell it how I say it. I do not normally say "must not have" I say "mustn't've" so it looks weird and I can't help myself to spell it properly (to match what I say) because I feel it represents my "voice" better.

Panda's cute. No more special from that slowly dying species. Still, never seen a rolling animal before (not head first that is).

/Huh. I'm growing found of parenthesis.
