I was in constant terror of his music. I could no longer think about anything but making him turn it off.

Well, you could've taken bolt cutters to his power line, but I suppose killing him would work too.

TRUE! nervous, very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why WILL you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses, not destroyed, not dulled them. Above all was the sense of hearing acute. I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How then am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily, how calmly, I can tell you the whole story.

It is for situations such as this that justifiable homicide was invented. They should dig the guy up and kill him again.

Alexandrov was apprehended when he ran out of gas as he drove to dump the body of his 27-year-old victim.

I lol'd at that part.

Blasting the same song at ear-piercing volume was a technique used by the ATF at Waco (I believe their song of choice was "Achy Breaky Heart"), and it's been used similarly by other paramilitary organizations in other siege situations. So it's clearly part of an offensive strategy, and people who become victims of it in non-officially-sanctioned situations should have the right to defend themselves. Probably not lethally, but hey. Sometimes you gotta make a stand.

What sad mental illness would possess someone to play a song like that over and over again?

Back in the late 60s my mother had to deal w/ her dorm neighbors blasting their records too loud during quiet hours. So, after a trip home one weekend, she brought back a single (LP or EP?) of the German Christmas hit Kling, Glöckchen Ring. Her cheap ass record player would repeat whatever was on the player rather than just stop so she placed the player by the vent she shared w/ the neighbor and anytime she and her roommate left for class or for dinner or at night, they would turn that record on until her neighbors surrendered and negotiated a peace agreement if they would never ever play that record again.

I've never understood why people want to play the same song nonstop on repeat. Even songs that I love, I don't want to hear a dozen times in a row, let alone for a week.

AgnosticAngles: There is some Christmas music playing here at work that is making me think of doing the same thing

I remember a TFer telling an anecdote about a brother or buddy of his who interned at a Clear Channel radio station one year. He was instructed to play certain songs a certain number of times during his shift for the month and he abhored Grandma got Run-over By a Reindeer. So, on his first shift of the month he made up a couple of bumpers saying that he was going to play that song on a continuous loop until he fulfilled his month long requirement in one shift. Kid almost got fired until the station manager got calls from listeners who commended the lad for getting such dreck out of the way.

Why not Milennium? That's the only Robbie Williams song that's any good and mostly because it makes me think of James Bond.

I've been coming to like him over the last couple of years but Millennium was the only single of his that made a blip in our radar in this country. Also the James Bond persona was pretty fun in that video, wasn't it?

His best video by far (Only slightly NSFW)

The woman who moved into the apartment next door played "7 Nation Army" by the White Stripes on repeat for about a week. She sang along to it too. Didn't matter the hour either since she apparently was on a meth binge, and didn't sleep. I would tell her to cut it out but it would come on again about 4 to 6 hours later when she'd forget.

It's the reason I have a vehement, murderous hatred of anything those two ass clowns (Meg and Jack White) produce.

It's also why I have wireless headphones.

I'd say justifiable homicide on the basis of psychological torture.

Hero tag.

I lived downstairs from a couple who played songs with the exact same bass beat extremely loudly, and nearly all the time for a year. Anytime I hear a hispanic song with a tuba section that goes BUM-bum-BUM-bum-bumbumbumbum-BUM-bum I flip out still.

I used to only dream of taking these people out. This guy actually did it. He's my hero.

brap: I cannot get this song out of my head. It's been two weeks now 24/7. Tonight, I will trepan myself with an icecream scoop.

That's actually kind of ...enjoyable. I require a Bent remix right now! That's actually an ear worm of my own, so be cautious if you click the link. My current ear worm is this.
