Adjective Bird Whiskey: Jamaican airport? Not that many gates.

Like when I was flying into the town where I grew up earlier today. Our airport is so small, that for a few years after 9/11 the security caused a bit of a problem because once you went past the security check point, there was no bathroom. So if you had to pee, you had to wait for the plane or leave the secured area and go through x-ray again.

Anyway, the flight attendant made some announcement like "If you planeside checked baggage, it'll be on the jetway for you to retrieve. If you are doing this, please stand to the side of the jetway so others can pass." Our airport doesn't have a jetway. You have to walk across the tarmac.

Reading "Airplane" themed threads on FARK is the best way to start a day. I'll be lol all day thinking about some of the comments here, making people around me think I'm losing my mind. People will ask "WTF are you laughing about?" and I can't really explain (unless they are also Farkers/Farkettes) without really seeming crazy. Not that I care, in truth I am sort of crazy.

As far as I'm concerned, "Airplane" quotes will never get old.

There werew safer on that plane than in a Kingston hospital. I would have booked a flight home ASAP for medical.

There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

johndalek: Oznog: If you haven't seen Zero Hour!, you MUST.

OMFG, the script for Airplane! is like 80% ZH, because the Zucker Brothers actually BOUGHT the script rights just to MST3K the whole thing.

Yes, he does say "It's a different type of flying altogether". There's a "I just want to tell you good luck- we're all counting on you."

one of my favorite movies--and based on the book runway 08.

its hard not to laugh when watching zero hour--you keep expecting punch lines all over the place.

It's hard not to laugh when you see Leslie Nielsen in any serious role pre-Airplane/Naked Gun/Police Squad.

For instance, he's the captain of the ship in Poseiden Adventure. You keep expecting ridiculous lines.

I want the best available man on this... a man who knows that plane inside and out and won't crack under pressure.

How about Mr. Rogers?

Recently borrowed the DVD of "Forbidden Planet" from the local library. While watching it the line "I just want to tell both of you good luck...we're all counting on you." kept popping into my head several times.
"That's okay, Miss. I speak jive." Thank YOU, Mrs. Cleaver, and how's Ward treating the Beaver??
