Random Reality Check: el wharrrgarblo: Random Reality Check: el wharrrgarblo: But some people think that everyone has the same mentality, and we all don't. Some people don't want to work, and will gladly take advantage of every free loading program they can, and teach their children to do it too.

And that's a problem exactly why? Where in the Constitution does it say that people have to work? At what point is it better for a society to carry the 3% of people (or whatever it is) who don't want to work? Actually, we carry roughly 1% in very expensive prisons right now.

As to your bullshiat that Welfare is a long term lifestyle, the evidence shows that you're talking out of that asshole and know nothing about the real world.

Go ahead and ask for a citation and I'll cram one so far down your ignorant throat that you'll gargle facts for a week. (In all honesty, that may be the most useful week you will ever contribute to society.)

el wharrrgarblo: Did I say that?

You damn well implied it and you know you did. At the same time when someone points out what you actually said you feel the need to run from it. I would posit that you realized what a dickhead thing it was to say and you're pulling the "Did I say that?" ploy to try and get out of it.

el wharrrgarblo: I like how you pick and choose what you want to quote.

That's right. You say it and I respond to what you wrote. Pick and choose? You farking posted it here for all of us to comment on. What part of that are you having trouble understanding?

el wharrrgarblo: I've posted else where that Im all for educating/training people, making sure they're healthy until their healthcare at their job kicks in, and then ween them off.

Oh, and to think that I missed your wisdom in some other thread. I might never be the same.

As to the "wean them off" comment - STFU, you don't know what you're talking about - and go ahead, ask for the citation.

el wharrrgarblo: What people like you don't seem to understand is we don't like in some Hollywood movie. People all aren't "good", and good at heart. People are greedy and selfish and you can see it through all walks of life, and all the different races.

People like me? You don't know me from Solomon.

Listen - people come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. I know people who are generous to the point they put their lives in danger to help their communities - and that isn't even a rare quality in humans. I know people who give of their time and money - because it's what they believe.

You don't seem to know jack.

el wharrrgarblo: I'm all for giving people a chance since I know that life isn't fair from the get go. What I'm not for is supporting theives and low lives that are plenty capable of working but don't want to.

I honestly don't care what the hell you believe and the good news is that if the majority of Americans don't we WON'T do what you want.

You have no right to decide how anyone in this country lives - and thank God, followed immediately by the founders, for that.

el wharrrgarblo: Wall St. produces nothing. They use smoke and mirrors to manipulate everything, and then use fake money to buy politicians, to get the laws changed, so they can do almost whatever they want. And then when they fail, they demand we pay them.

There is so much idiocy in this three sentences that I gave serious consideration to passing on it - but decided to slap you once more.

As someone who owns a business and has had to approach investors on more than one occasion - do us both a favor and STFU. You are an embarrassment to the children of the USA.

el wharrrgarblo: Since most of you are naive and have almost zero real-world experience, it doesn't really matter what you see in me.

Seeing as I will be 54 years old in about six weeks and have owned a business since you have been in diapers (from what I can gather) I think I can speak with some authority when I say you represent exactly why this country is failing. You have zero accumulated knowledge and never-ending boisterous opinions.

el wharrrgarblo: You're wrong. Peopl ...

You are have FARKING clue what you are talking about, and you're god damned right I want citations.

Then I'll show you mine. Go ahead, idiot.

I have a perfectably acceptable view about getting poor people trained and getting them a job and then getting them off of support.

And NO, you're right, they dont' need to work. But guess what? That means they need to get the fark out! They don't get to enjoy what they don't farking pay for, or put effort towards, PERIOD.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell all of the idiots like you. We can start a nation wided fund, and all of you idiots can't donate all you want so that people can sit around all day and do nothing. That way, you can feel good about yourself. I'm guessing that account will have a very low balance, however, as people like you only like to spend everyone else's money and not your own.

You have no business in America, PERIOD.

Seriously, get a grip. Credit has created a better world and living. Without credit, investment capital on loan..well, the standards of living we've grown accustomed to simply wouldn't exist. Wall Street is the the lifeblood that gives corporatiosn the ability to exist, to expand, to research, to develop, to produce products that require massive investments that no non-corporation could attempt..and along the way, to issue paychecks to people.

You can be mad as percieved abuses, or admit jealousy of those with wealth beyond any of our dreams or reach..but drop the attitude about 'evil Wall Street' not creating value. It is an embarassingly stupid position to take for anyone who can feebly bang out a few words on a search engine that will provide copius amounts of information proving the foolishness of such statements.

Boy is that true. Living beyond your means is easier than ever. Meanwhile Asia is kicking our ass in the world economy. Could it be our expectations are a little high? 80% of the world is content with a bowl of rice and place to sleep while Americans aspire to, no, expect...no, DEMAND a huge house, a car each, more TVs than people live in the house, and annual trips to Disneyworld.

Unchecked consumption like that will put this country in an early grave. It has already attracted waves of immigrants who drain our resources and retire back home with our social security checks. We have entire industries (insurance and some areas of credit) dedicated to nothing more than jacking up prices of things so corporate america can make that extra dollar. Yes, the availability of credit allows the average middle class individual to buy (nay, lease) a $40,000 car, but if that credit wasn't there, that car wouldn't cost $40,000 in the first place. Yes insurance exists to allow the average middle class individual to afford reasonable healthcare to the tune of thousands a year, but if that insurance didn't exist healthcare would not be overpriced (I direct your attention to Mexico.)

Maybe this economy runs on credit, but what I dispute is that that is a good thing. It's nothing but a facade on dangerous overconsumption.

Utilizing credit is not automatically living beyond ones means. the use of credit by an individual or a buisness is a tool for managing your finances. You can choose to use the tool poorly, or wisely. Just because some idiots misuse the tool does not make the tool the problem.

Meanwhile Asia is kicking our ass in the world economy. Paging the ghost of Marx...

It has already attracted waves of immigrants who drain our resources and retire back home with our social security checks.

The success of our country was founded by waves of immigrants. Legal immigration is a good thing. We could definitely stand to control illegal immigration. Illegal immigration leads to lots of negative problems--especially for the illegal immigrants, who are exploited by many employers paying slave wages. illegal immigrants are not stealing our social security checks, Please respond with semi-coherent garbage in the future.

We have entire industries (insurance and some areas of credit) dedicated to nothing more than jacking up prices of things so corporate america can make that extra dollar.

Credit has given us a lot, but as with anything, it can and has been abused. It's been abused to the point, in America, that we are in big trouble.

There needs to be some changes as we are broke on a national level, and things are getting worse, not better. Governement speding is up, and I don't see a solid, well thought plan anywhere that is going to get us out of this mess.

Agreed. Unfortunealty, we are all going to have to cut back and suck it up for a while.

It seems, however, that the working class are the only ones who are getting stuck with the bill. Government just keeps on spending, and the number of people that are on some kind of assistance just keeps getting bigger.

It has all but ruined Cali.

Uhm, gun sales have been through the roof in the last year. They're finally starting to come back down to normal levels I think.

Thank goodness. The 150-300% markup on prices due to creating a false panic that Obama would already have taken away all the guns is a bit silly. The price on Ar-15s in particular has come way down again.

I find the ammo shortage to be particularly ironic: a small number of hoarders terrified that Obama will take away guns and ammo basically buy up the entire ammo supply thus effectively taking ammunition away from the majority of the populace.

/Finally can find .22 lr. albeit at 2x the cost of 2 years ago
//Still can't find primers.

When the wars start to wind down over the next few years, the price of ammo will fall though the floor. For a time at least, ammo pricing will probably be less than it's been in a decade. Just like those who've bought gold in the past year, those who've bought ammo in the past year have bought at the top of the market, the only direction for either is down.

When the wars end and the military stops buying in such quantities, supply will quickly catch up with demand. Shortly thereafter, the limits on ammo purchase will be dropped, then retail prices will start falling. Falling retail prices will spur a lot of those who "invested" in ammo to start selling off their personal stocks. This sell-off will cause a glut of ammo, at which point prices will plummet. Still, those in need of cash will sell their ammo, even below cost.

If history is any example, supply will so overwhelm demand that spot prices of certain popular types of ammo will drop below actual manufacturing cost.

Dutch tulips - US Ammo, same deal, different century.

Impudent Domain: crime and poverty do not have the exact proportional relationship that sociologists have led us to believe. Many other factors are important. It can also be said that the relationship between crime and poverty is sometimes backward. Meaning, stupid, criminal minded people are more likely to live in poverty.

It also helps that criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot.

Their evil schemes will come to naught
