what's this world coming to when people have to wear the same clothes more than once

If we were to start wearing our clothes more than once, all of those poor sweatshop kids would be out of work.

Only wearing 10% of your wardrobe is a bad thing, article author. It's a bad thing and if you don't use all your clothes, stop buying them and give what you don't use away.

Alright, anybody besides me own exactly 7 t-shirts? I don't like repeating a shirt within a week, but other than that, I'm cool.

Must be nice to have disposable income.

/wearing polo shirt from work (2008), turtleneck and khakis from secondhand store (2006 and 2008 respectively)
//I wear 80% of my wardrobe
///the other 20% will be donated this week

I just wear nothing everyday. It really saves on clothing, laundry, food, rent and sex since I don't use the former 2 and the jail provides the latter 3.

a disturbing new trend? Is it...eating?

2009-12-21 02:53:22 PM
I wear the same pair of jeans everyday (change the rest of my clothes and really only wear them out of the house - shorts or pajama pants in the house) until they start smelling bad or i spill something on them. Barring that they get washed about once every 2 weeks.

This cycle repeats until they fall apart and I get a new pair (if you see holes in my jeans it's because i wore them so much they got worn out).

All women (except ugly fatties) should were only 10% of the clothing that they now do. I.e., go around almost naked.

Man, my mom sponsored this kid though one of those children's charities and she got a picture of him in a red sweat suit. The picture the following year? Same sweat suit!

"I think this new study proves that although plenty of women have shopped all of their lives, they still feel they have nothing to wear.
It's really surprising that so many women wear so little of the clothes they actually own."

No it isn't, women who shop like that are vapid twits.

This is relatively disgusting. Relative to the site you are posting on that is. In the real world, this is just plain gross.

I have some shirts that are going on 10 years old and I still wear them about once a month. Getting a little thin, but still fit for an average day.

I am careful about not being seen on the Internet on celebrity gossip sites though, and I already clicked on one to read about Michael Jackson, so TFA's author can FOAD.

When did we, as a collective society, decide it is okay mandatory to wear jeans at least 5 times between washing?

/My sprinklers might run in the rain, but dammit I'm not wasting water washing my pants.

It must be nice to never have to wear the same outfit twice....do they burn the old clothes, or donate them to the local peasants?

2009-12-21 03:01:11 PM
Hell, not only do I frequently wear the same outfits, I wear the same one almost every day.

Occasionally I'll wear a different black jacket.

/Yes, I'm a male.

This is why I don't understand dress up events for charity. You have people invited to some fundraiser and the women are wearing dresses costing many hundreds of dollars. How about you show up in whatever is handy and you give the money you'd have spent on clothes to the charity on top of whatever you're giving them?

2009-12-21 03:01:36 PM
subby sounds like my ex-girlfriend and her $8,000 in debt with a closet full of stuff she "already wore".

2009-12-21 03:02:06 PM
I still have the shirt I wore in highschool in 1973, and it's come back in style twice since then.
I'm wearing it right now at work.

ObscureBacon: "My goal is to have 365 pairs of underwear, so I only have to do laundry once a year."

I was going to say something about the girl Jerry was dating who wore the same dress all the time. He thought she might have a closet full of the same dresses.

Also, I routinely leave clothes that I wore for a few hours on the floor and put them back on later. Come on, four hours of wear does not make a shirt dirty.

I have enough socks and underwear to get me by for as long as 2 weeks without doing laundry... But I have to wash pants and shirts, so I guess I'm fortunate. Oh and Victorias boobs look like teh YUM!

Stopping you there. Try thousands of dollars. And I thought you were gay and would know about these things... Just kidding (kind of). I also do not comprehend this whole fashion thing. Oh, look! Some famous person is wearing something silly. I don't care.
