This is such an unusual story. I'm surprised anyone in Hollywood is on drugs. In fact, no one in Hollywood is on drugs. Everyone is either off an adiction or about to go into rehab. Besides, since President Bush has devoted all his energy to fighting terrorism and securing our borders, the drugs are no longer coming into America.

Eps: No, but the US has rescued a female US POW.

BTW, from the tiny photos I've seen, I bet $5 that in a few days Playboy will offer her money to show her privates.

Its good to know any DVD I purchase supports the recovery of a poor drug addict in Hollywood.

Toronto Film Fest party for that drug movie SPUN that may or may not be out now. I don't think it's released here yet.
The blonde was doing a little bump and grind act that night.
My girlfriend did an erotic fire act, it was lots of fun.

I think Nick found the lyrics to Joe Walsh's "Life's Been Good" and took them as scripture.

I'll eat my hat!

When he was taken into custody near his Malibu home, the actor was under the influence of a banned depressant - known as the "date-rape drug" for its incapacitating effects.

Who would wanna date-rape him?

Your random drug fact of the day:

In NYC, the fine for smoking tobacco in a public place is now greater than the fine for possession of marijuana.

Tobacco:
"The penalty for a first-time offense begins at $200"
Source

Pot:
"Unlawful possession of marijuana (section 221.05 NYS Penal Law) is a violation, resulting in a fine of not more than $200..."
Source

I think anyone smoking anything stinky while I'm trying to eat should pay 200$... TO ME!

"When NBC's Bryant Gumbel asked Nolte if he had ever undergone cosmetic surgery, the actor claimed he'd had a "tuck" to make his genitals more youthful-looking. The live TV interview came to an abrupt halt. "

Heh heh. I bet it did.

Wish I'd seen it. I'll wager that Bryant Gumbel just about swallowed his tongue.

Sure. If they're in YOUR HOUSE. If not, you can always go somewhere else. It's a free country.

My point exactly. If you owned a piece of property, wouldn't you expect to be able to smoke there (or allow others to... or not...) if you so desired? There are thousands of restaurants in NYC. Why not let people decide for themselves whether to go to smoke free bars or restaurants. Certainly if everyone thought like you, then all the smoke friendly restaurants would go out of business, right?

2003-04-02 09:28:06 AM
Let's violate all the health codes.
No more employees washing hands or rat-free kitchens.

2003-04-02 09:34:42 AM
Sure.

And people would stop going to those establishments and they would close.

I'm just tired of being mothered by government. I'm a big boy. Let me make my own decisions, thanks.

...That people should change their behavior to suit your whims.

It is a public health issue.
Like not using lead based paint or asbestos.
These are public places.
Why not have private smoking clubs. (cigar bars and the like)

How are these my whims? I never voted on such legislation.

Government exists for social control and money collection. People need the government; that is why we so willingly surrender our rights to it. If you resist the government's efforts to control you then you are causing problems for the system. Please continue to tell the Emperor that you like his new clothes.

It is a public health issue.

A bar is "public" only insofar as it is open to the public. It isn't owned by the public.

What would wrong with a sign on the door that said: "This is a smoke friendly establishment. By entering, you are accepting that you may be exposed to second hand smoke."?

Why ban it?

Don't we ban enough stuff?

Brisvegas_boy, in case you misunderstood there, I was taking the piss of my own crappy, pointless anagram, not yours. I don't think I would have had a singe comment get through in all the months I've been here if any of that stuff was a prerequisite either ;)

"singe" being french for monkey of course.

I like when Steve Martin flashed that mug shot of Nick Nolte at the Oscars, while he was talking about how beautiful all the movie stars were.

I mean he flashed on the big TV screen behind him. It was better than Michael Moore's speech.

It is so easy to make cruel jokes about Nick Nolte. Kick him while he is down.

whenever I hear Nolte jokes, it says more about the joke teller's shadow and than Nick.

Nick is sick and suffering. Leave him alone.

He's actually a pretty good guy.

Yeah, seriously shivaaa. I was snorting a line of coke with 'im the other day, and he was all like "Why don't we think of the children?" He is a caring, compassionate human being.
