How much tonic water would be needed to hit .11? ...and I'd imagine that test group wouldn't sleep well either since they'd be peeing all night.

Most (good quality) hard liquors are okay when it comes to hangovers. For me personally, its sugar in the drinks that really cause hangovers, whether its a mixed drink, wine, schnaps, Kaluha, anything sweet.

Chilled vodak with a couple rocks, a lemon twist or slice, is best.

I spit on vodak, the vodak industry, and all booze other than Bourbon.

I once drank a third of a bottle of tequila in a fairly short sitting. Was not unusually drunk nor hungover the next morning.

Schnapps is the farkin' worst. My best friend's dad tried drinking me under the table with schnapps shots at his bachelor party. I threw up so hard in their driveway that the pavement still has a stain a year later. That man is the goddamn devil.

I have to agree that Schnapps is the farking worst. I live in Germany and once a month the wife and I take a trip to Thuringia to see her parents. My in-laws are farking incredible drinkers. Never fails that after many beers they pull out the schnapps and it all goes downhill from there. The night usually ends in a haze and the hangover is almost unbearable. Of course at 11:00 AM Sunday it's time for the morning beer. Ugh....I'll be there for three days for Christmas. My liver is crying already.

I will stipulate that while my experiences with schnapps have left me feeling absolutely the worst, the only time (to the best of my recollection) that I went "crazy drunk" was on tequila.


You have a point there, the worst... as in pain might well be schnapps. The worst... as in regrets may well be Tequila.

If you have Thorogood's live album, you'll hear that he mentions John Lee Hooker during the song. And Hooker's original is really good. That clip I grabbed is not the version I know. I like Thorogood a lot; it was his reference to John Lee Hooker that turned me on to all the old blues artists. I even have a copy of the blues tune "Gallows Pole" that Led Zeppelin covered. Zeppelin did a much better job.

And yes, stay away from tequila! Too hard to spell,for one thing. That's why I am on to rum.

No, I'd agree with burbon being the worst hangover.

Burbon is a true drinker's way of punching himself in the face.
