Weaver95: Your Faith is Creepy: The zeitgeist can't burn down K Street, but it can make enough people apathetic enough that they won't do anything when K Street is torched. Let's see, how could we spread such apathy? How about... responding to admissions of organ harvesting, a serious human rights violation, with a single syllable indicating bored dismissal? Yeah, that ought to do it.

so you're saying I really AM all powerful? duuuude....

i'm gonna recompile the matrix to let everyone fly!

Believe it or not, the choices aren't limited to simply binaries of utter powerlessness and complete omniscience. Neither are there only individuals and vague, monolithic wholes. Come on now - be reasonable and try to get past the black-and-white thinking.

While you're at it, can you give me a threesome with Fook Mi and Fook Yu?

So now they follow ethics and Jewish law? There are some stories from the old testament that make this not so encouraging to me. ;)

I'd rather they follow international law and human rights conventions.

jmaster306: GAT_00: The world according to Weaver:

Blatant abuse of human rights: Meh
Government spending: ZOMGWHARRGARBL

In his defense you are comparing US government actions to Israeli government actions. I'm betting Weaver95 is probably American and therefore can vote and/or pester his representatives. You can't exactly do the same when you are talking about another country.

But doesn't the US give billions of dollars to Israel each year? Seems like Americans can vote and/or pester their representatives to end this.

Axias: China Still does it, except they keep their 'falun gong worshippers' alive until someone needs the organ.. They are all tissue-matched and ready for your needs.

Israel saying, "No we didn't", and now recanting "Yeah, we did it" should give you accurate insight as to 'how they roll'.

If these examples of inhumanity aren't cassus belli, then there are none. Instead, we'll see billions of our tax dollars go to both countrys.

/expect to see this story worsen, as you can't really harvest from dead people, which blows a big hole in their latest story.

According to the article, this occurred at one "institute" (hospital?) within Israel. I'm not sure if that means it's even accurate to say "Israel does this".

I'm not sure at all why the professor released the interview. Again, the article says this happened to everyone that was in the hospital (and died.) The professor stretches that into some judgment about how Israel is skinning its enemies.

2009-12-20 09:02:32 PM
The admission, by the former head of the country's forensic institute, followed a furious row prompted by a Swedish newspaper reporting that Israel was killing Palestinians in order to use their organs - a charge that Israel denied and called "antisemitic".

So, even the truth is antisemitic now. Guess this means Israel will stick to lying from now on then.

2009-12-20 09:03:07 PM
Of course there's outrage that the Israelis were healed by the bodies of Arabs intending to kill Jews. We all know that Muslims don't take irony very well.

Damnhippyfreak: Come on now - be reasonable and try to get past the black-and-white thinking.

Good luck with that. Let me know how this conversation works out for you.

fotbr: However, I bet they'd do a lot less of "whatever the hell they want" if we were to quit giving them money and promises of defense.

That'd be a good start.

But, I'm pretty sure it is unconstitutional or racist or something

Heh, that must be an extremely demoralizing tactic, to have a soldier's body parts taken and used by the enemy to prolong their lives. Especially if you see them as subhuman or whatnot.

Does it count as the spoils of war? You could employ sniper teams for the sole purpose of not damaging organs. I guess it's very macabre, but it seems very effective.

Your Faith is Creepy: pre-9/11, immediately post-9/11, and a year after the invasion of Iraq

You know, I don't think there was much of a change in the world attitudes.

My Canadian mother-in-law, who has a disease that causes her to say whatever the hell happens to be floating across her pea-brained mind, remarked to me in late Sept 2001 that perhaps the US would stop interfering in world politics as a result of 9/11. She is a holocaust survivor, and her daughter and I were both working jobs that took us in and out of the Pentagon on a weekly basis at the time, which to me makes her attitude a little bit funnier and a lot more informing.

I did not discuss this in depth with her, but I don't think her attitudes were or are uncommon. I believe the "sympathy" generated by the events of 2001 was not as deeply felt by foreign people as their governments conveyed.

//cool story bro?

lol, you know the first sign of maturity/intelligence is the ability to admit you are wrong. You could have saved yourself GATs beat down early in the thread by adopting that. Keep up the good fight though champ ;).

Channel 2 TV reported that in the 1990s, specialists at Abu Kabir harvested skin, corneas, heart valves and bones from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians and foreign workers, often without permission from relatives.

The Israeli military confirmed to the programme that the practice took place, but added: "This activity ended a decade ago and does not happen any longer."

Hiss said: "We started to harvest corneas ... whatever was done was highly informal. No permission was asked from the family."

That's just lovely, is it really that hard to ask.

Um, no it's not. Trafficking in human body parts is about as severe a violation of Jewish law as you can get. Waaay beyond eating pork.
