I raise an eyebrow in amusement.

Pretty good.

I suddenly want to see that movie. Badly.

I'm amused.

If only there was a way to get Clint Eastwood into a Dark Tower movie :(

2009-12-19 12:05:00 PM
That was farking awesome.

/Sadly, I thought Gran Torino was pretty weak.

2009-12-19 12:08:55 PM
That was f*cking brilliant.

Chariset: I suddenly want to see that movie. Badly.

Which one?

Oh my dear god.

That is most certainly the product of a very, very demented mind.

Naturally, I laughed uproariously almost the whole way through.

I've been wondering for a while why no one had noticed that last year had two movies about elderly, recently widowed men who lived on their own in a house in a rapidly changing neighborhood, despite attempts from others to get them to move, who befriend an Asian-American boy with whom they originally have an antagonistic relationship, and at the end of the movie pin an important medal from their past on the boy.

I mean, the houses even look similar.

Granp?

Upino?

Either way, pretty good.

It's been done.

2:06 is hilarious.

That was really well done.

I haven't seen Up yet.

When I watched this mish-mash I thought "there is no way that there happens to be this many similarities between the two"

Amazing.

I hope.... HOPE the "get off my lawn" was meant to indicate that these movies are both WAY AFTER your time.

Otherwise.... get off MY lawn, you sniveling punk.

/ Seriously, that was great.

2009-12-19 02:21:40 PM
Well done.

I'm probably in the minority, but I liked Gran Torino better than Up.

Nice find, subby.

That was actually pretty shoddy, contrary to the uproarious applause seen within here... he uses two different character voices from Gran Torino (Father Janovich and Thao) for the boy from Up. And then he puts the voice of Sue onto the dog? Nevermind that Gran Torino was a subpar movie with overly dramatized religious themes... only reason people rave about it at all is because Clint Eastwood directed it. Take him away from the film and leave the film intact and it wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention.

Awesome.

I noticed this a while ago. I told my wife Up is the PG-rated version of Gran Torino.

I agree; this video doesn't really work that well. Gran Torino is his best film, but that's not saying much. Million Dollar Baby was terrible.

Better than Unforgiven? That's unpossible.

I really liked Gran Torino, although it does has its weak points (mostly the young actors). I just loved the story.

I'd hate to have to choose just one CE movie, but if I had to it'd be The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Havn't seen Up, but still thought this was pretty neat.

He didn't do anything but take the GT trailer audio and put it on the UP video.

I think Toy Story Requiem and the feel-good version of The Shining are the gold standard of trailer mashups.

Bert and Ernie, Casino-style is pretty good, too, though it's not a trailer.

tedZilla: Better than Unforgiven? That's unpossible.

Unforgiven (1992) is easily his best film. Mystic River (2003) is really good too. I did like Changeling (2008) as well, but both Mystic River and Changeling are hard to watch twice, just because once you've seen them, they don't really require second viewings.

I also liked A Perfect World (1993), although I did not entirely agree with the ending.

Listen to John Buck 41, Eastwood's best movie is The Outlaw Josey Wales.
