I liked 1 and 2. 3 had Eric Idle as a wizard eating rocks, which was the only funny scene. I'd still probably see 4, though.

Nah, the scene with Snow White attacking the gates was the only funny scene, but I hear ya, I'll give this one a shot.

I feel bad for any other trailers coming out this week and having to compete with Iron Man 2's trailer.

Oh, who am I kidding? I couldn't give a fark. All I care about is the awesomeness that will be IM2. :)

I loved #1. #2 was also quite good. Couldn't get through #3.

You have well represented my devilishly good looks, as well as my calm, cool demeanor.

Well, as I've always said: You can never have too much of a good thing. Ever.....

2009-12-18 04:45:11 PM
Not surprising that they made a 4th, though they probably shouldn't have. Ah, who am I kidding? It'll still make money, even if it's 10 times worse than the 3rd, which was not a good movie. I liked the 1st and 2nd ones just fine, but when I took my daughters to the 3rd I wanted there to be a fire in the theater.

2009-12-18 04:54:01 PM
There was a 3?

2009-12-18 04:56:26 PM
It suffered badly being put in front of Avatar. Same with the Alice in Wonderland trailer. Yes, there's some neat stuff being put together in 3D, but I think they were biting off more than they could chew in comparison. In both cases, it seemed more a gimmick, and a method for storytelling.

And if they hadn't been put against the new Hubble piece and Avatar they'd have both done fine.

I watched the first & second Shreck films with my 4 year old niece recently.

1) she didn't really care
and
2) they really don't hold up very well. Waaaaaaaaaaaay too many pop culture references that, while funny then, are just stale now.

/HATED #3
//but will still probably download go see #4

2009-12-18 05:29:15 PM
1 and 2 were good movies. 3 was duller but had its moments. Ill give 4 a shot but itll have to be a matinee.

it will at least have the benefit of lowered expectations after the last one.

2009-12-18 05:38:11 PM
Shrek 3 might be the most unfunny comedy I've ever seen. When even your 8-year-old nephew is asking to leave because he's bored, you know the movie has missed it's mark.

15 - Franchise reboot with darker tone and critically acclaimed director/producer at the helm.

I liked the first one except for the annoying ass and the song at the end, what the fark was that all about? Never saw the other two.

As much as it pains me to join the ranks of all the hating douches here I have to say every 3D animated movie I've seen (I'm guessing close to a dozen) I've liked better than Shrek.

"Essentially, it's Shrek meets It's A Wonderful Life in what promises to be the final film about the Scottish ogre."

Hopefully they won't break that promise

I don't even bother with movies. You saps that wasted your time and money are fools.

According to Wikipedia (new window), Paul McCartney will be voicing Rumpelstiltskin.

I happened to watch that earlier today. Seems deliberately vague on the basic plot.

But the fat version of Puss looked funny.

Why?

Someone wanted to put Justin Timberlake in something, for some reason..

I honestly don't know there was a third Shreck movie.

Be fair, Justin TImberlake is really funny, doesn't seem to take himself too seriously, and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

1 was great, 2 was good if only for the Puss in Boots pot throwaway line. 3 wasn't so entertaining.

I'm being kind.

Masso

OK I gotta ask, why in holy hell would you see the sequel to a movie when you didnt like the first one? seriously you just like looking down your nose at things at that point.

I mean I had to decide whether or not Ill bother with 4 and decided that I liked the first 2 well enough that Ill give it a shot unless the early reviews are really bad.

2009-12-19 01:10:01 PM
I did enjoy the first one. Kinda enjoyed the second, but can't bring myself to watch any other Shrek dreck.

For the role he did, Justin Timberlake did a decent enough job. But the movie just stank.
