take the plunge! post some "blanks" of YOUR kitty and see how fun it is to see your kitty in lights and your family's kitty might get a fun or silly caption of his or her very own! a detailed "how to post pics on Caturday and on fark in general for dummies" page can be found here (new window). once you get the hang of it, posting pics is very easy, but it can seem daunting if you haven't ever done it before. take a look at that web page and it will make sense. there's even a bonus section that shows how easy it is to caption your own pics.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A NEW KITTY THAT NEEDS A NAME:
introduce your new charge(s)! perhaps we can have a naming "contest". post a pic of your kitty and let everyone make suggestions. some of the ones Caturday comes up with are hilarious and often very appropriate. my guy, "LittleOne", recently got his new long name "Jester Lord Fluffy Bottom" (partly mine and partly another lovely farker's - take credit you-know-who!).

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A KITTY WHO IS UNDER THE WEATHER:
please post details and pose questions. Caturday is a lovely place to get help as well as have fun. many of us, having had lots of kitties and having taking care of their lovely and many, many lives and, unfortunately, injuries and illnesses, have become "kitty health resources". post the issues and we'll all see if we can help, and for myself, please feel free to email me (my address can be found in "how to post pics on Caturday and on fark in general for dummies" (new window) or in my profile).

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST A KITTY TO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE:
for those who have recently lost a kitty, please do let us know. please show us your pics, tell us the story. sharing helps. a wise person once told me "a joy shared is twice a joy, a pain shared is half a pain". tell us of the lovely times of days past when kitty was around. tell us of your heartbreak at losing kitty. it's safe around here; no one will judge. most all of us have been there and will sympathize.

Woot, Caturday!

Hey, things I do to my cats..., how is the little heated kitty shed beside your porch working out? Have the neighbours' cats (or any other random cats) been using it?

A vote for me is a vote for dogs everywhere.

For those of you well wishers last week, Becky came through fine.

both the outside kittehs know it is there, mostly Patrick, the large solid black long hair. his little "sister" (unrelated) Zoey, the small short hair calico, seems to have some ideas, but she is so skittish, i don't really know what is happening with her - standing at the front door, if i even move the little curtain around the little windows at the top of the door, that scares her and is almost grounds for her to run off.

i keep putting food in there and it is always gone. Patrick is friendly enough with me for me to be able to casually touch him a little now and then and his skittishness varies from time to time, but he always knows when i put food out there. the problem with Patrick is LittleOne; they have a checkered history. LittleOne AKA Jester Lord Fluffy Bottom used to chase him all the time which contributed to his early apprehension about me. now LittleOne has decided that Patrick is reasonably OK, but now Patrick yells at him every time he seems him. so, i am trying keep them away from each other.

i am not sure if anyone is staying in there when it is cold, but it is comfy enough for them i suppose.

all in all, it is serving the main purpose i suppose and they are or are becoming aware of it.

LittleOne's xray showing his dislocated hip (posted before) - injury sustained end of June 2007



LittleOne all harnessed up the night before his surgery, an FHO (femoral head ostectomy - if you don't know what that is, look it up. yikes!) - couple days before xmas 2007



LittleOne a couple days after the surgery with his quite visible scar and shaved area. (have more detailed and up close pics if anyone wants them.) the incision is vertical at the top of his hip down.

things I do to my cats...: yay! (noting the shaved spots) Glad she's feeling well and successful. hope that doesn't come back. did you get details from the vet on that likelihood? any other details?

Just gotta wait on the biopsy.
