To be fair, there have been many, many red *and* green headlines that are variations on the theme.

OK, old headline gimmick aside, I know this is really serious and it does truly disgust me and I hope that if this man is guilty he's brought up on charges and spends a long time put away and that the girl in question can get whatever help she needs and that everyone turns out OK who deserves to turn out OK. But this phrase:

sexually battering

makes me think of kinky foodish things. Surely there is a better term we can use than that.
