There are probably Spanish-language bookstores on the other side of the border that are closer to them than 150 miles to San Antonio.

They apparently have a shortage of SHIFT keys, Es and Ts, too.

It's just a short term lack of bookstore...Barnes & Noble states in the article they are planning a B&N store but the site for it won't be available for a 18 months.

If only there were some way to order books without having to physically go into a store.

I dunno, I've been in East Harlem for a while and have yet to see one. I only know of 1 in my neighborhood in Queens, but it is Spanish.

Seriously, why doesn't Borders or something come into these neighborhoods? Make a Spanish language section or something. It won't be as popular as say, a B+N in the UES, but there must be SOME sort of market for it!

Well if you think that piece is bad you should read the detroit free press. Where punctuations are everywhere, Simplistic writing within most columns. Also, the forums working on race baiting on both sides that you would think it was a recruiting agent for the Nation of Islam or, Stormfront.

I don't think subby is in a position to criticize anyone else's literacy level.

That said, 2 more things. First, I read a lot of books...and haven't been to a "bookstore" in years (has subby ever heard of the internet? you can shop there! it's so cool!). Second, I just did a Google Maps search of "bookstores in Laredo, TX" and there are several of them. I took it a step further and went to barnesandnoble.com and what do you know, there's even one from that chain there. Unless the business model of Barnes and Noble has changed, and they are now florists?
